View Full Version : Dirt Runners 2010 Outdoor Racing Season - Oak Ridge, NJ
tobamiester 06-01-2010, 09:36 AM Send it back to Novak. Tell them you have a problem with the lipo cutoff kicking in sporadically.
Yup gonna do that, get the firmware updated and unload it and get an RS  . I'll keep the Ballistic though.

If you are going to run a SC speedo with Novak run the GTB and not the Havoc Pro.

Nah, in my SC10 just a regular Ballistic can.
tobamiester 06-01-2010, 10:15 AM Here is a video from Station2. I'll be posting the rest over on the Station2 thread.

Got it.
Tug Speedman 06-01-2010, 01:41 PM What did Steve get lost on his three hour tour?
solographix 06-01-2010, 03:39 PM Adam/Mark/Dave, how did you find it running at the Station with those open pipes in turn 2 & 3 ?
If I timed my entry correct while running the oval you could really turn some fast laps getting real close to the pipe but it almost scares you into running wide which then leads you into hitting the back stretch wall.
While running off road I don't know that I even thought about it or had any issues with them because your not coming at them in that scary angle you would be on the oval. Having said that I think having the 90 degree pipes buried like we do at DR could curtail some potential broken parts.

They could also make the pipe shorter going into 2 and 3. That would make the off-road shorter because you wouldn't have to wait so long to make the U-turn but it would help the oval people.
I'm really not in favor of features on a track that set you up to break your car if you make a small mistake. Burying the end gradually gives you a launching ramp. If they did it like we do the pipe ends at DR (the 90 degree angle into the ground) that makes it a hard object to run into, kind of like a bridge abuttment.

solographix 06-02-2010, 11:04 AM With the growing list of broken Havoc Pro's we can all whine and complain about that right?
tobamiester 06-02-2010, 11:10 AM With the growing list of broken Havoc Pro's we can all whine and complain about that right?
Absolutely. Not happy with mine at all. Mine seemed to run fine in NIMH mode. I'll keep it for Sunday then send it in for a firmware update (if that is what the problem is)

Do you have something else to use in it for the following race? I sent mine Wed. of the week we last raced at DR and Alvin said they are not sure when I will get my replacement back to me.

Not sure. I might just pull the tekin out of my 12th scale Oval car (thats gathering dust).

If it makes you feel any better mine hasn't been looked at either. But I am not making this weeks race.
Jerzferno 06-02-2010, 11:47 AM What did Steve get lost on his three hour tour?
Nope. The boat is a driveway ornament for the next week or two. Need to get the boaters safety course done, then get the boat endorsement on my drivers license so the State Police Marine Division wont get me. The first 3 hour tour will be on Fathers Day weekend.
Jerzferno 06-02-2010, 11:53 AM I went to Trains & Lanes Sunday to see what the new off road track looks like. It doesnt look anything like the RC Tech thread says. Its over grown with weeds. Doesnt look like they worked on it for a few weeks? The surface is the same as the old track..........dirt. Theres lots of stone mixed in the surface, with much larger rocks on the sides of the track. The jumps are very big, and are 1/8th scale friendly only. Anything smaller will have trouble clearing them. Also the jumps are very steep, so I think there will be many broken parts from that. Big air in my opinion. It definately has potential, but as it looks now, I wont be racing there on off DR weekends. I guess I would limit that anyway since I have the fishing boat now.
Jerzferno 06-02-2010, 11:54 AM Anyone selling a Traxxas VXL system?
ta_man 06-02-2010, 12:03 PM With the growing list of broken Havoc Pro's we can all whine and complain about that right?
The people who are using Mambas (me) don't have to whine and complain.:dude:
Yet, anyway.

If they are just sending you GTBs as replacements, what's to look at?

For me it's not just a GTB replacement. Plus they need to weed through the other returns as well.
Mark as for your question I am waiting on pricing. Part number is S5051.
Jerzferno 06-02-2010, 12:56 PM Yea my VXL is running just fine too. LOL (Thats for you Tobey)
Jerzferno 06-02-2010, 12:57 PM Mark:
Alvin and I will not be at the next race, but will be there for the Fathers Day race. Can you bring the Clone PT's with you?
Thanks!

The car that has the Havoc Pro isn't a Slash. LOL
I think the VXL is a great system for the price btw other than the crappy on/off switch on the ESC.

Look on the bright side of things if its in your driveway when you through your money in the boat it should land on your driveway. (no one likes wet money) lol

TQ and leading the most laps means squat. All you have to do is lead the last lap in the A Main.
Yes once said, it comes at you from all directions.

solographix 06-02-2010, 06:49 PM So, my ballistic motor came in for my sprint, but I didn't order a sensor wire, I didn't even think about it since the old motor had it built in. Does anyone have one I can borrow for Sunday?
