never-gro-up 01-02-2010, 01:57 PM hi mark, does aka make 1/8 adapters for 4x4 slash? ray never-gro-up 01-02-2010, 02:00 PM i guess after we vote on them we will police ourselves. ray tobamiester 01-02-2010, 02:33 PM hi mark, does aka make 1/8 adapters for 4x4 slash? ray Stingray, http://www.raceaka.com/news.php?article_id=45 tobamiester 01-02-2010, 02:37 PM ..... But from what Toby said, I think he already has the AKA Pro-5 wheels. ... Didn't purchase anything yet gents. Just in the 'thinking about it' stage :) tobamiester 01-02-2010, 02:39 PM Charlie PM. never-gro-up 01-02-2010, 02:42 PM Stingray, http://www.raceaka.com/news.php?article_id=45 thanks, ray rcworkshopp 01-02-2010, 02:48 PM Stingray, http://www.raceaka.com/news.php?article_id=45 They look good. Would like to see one up close. Lap Traffic 01-02-2010, 03:19 PM One question I have on these tire rules, who is going to enforce them, any volunteers? GOOOOOOOOOOD Question. And as far as people policing themselves, it just doesn't work. In any class. Just my .02. spikeitaudi 01-02-2010, 04:43 PM Policing has always been the issue at DR. If you have to cheat or go out of the rules to win then why race at all. This is very simple at the rules meeting we vote yes or no. If yes great. If no then don't so it. If you are caught using it (Not very hard to figure out if you have 8th scale tires on the SC truck as they will stick out like a soar thumb in the first place) then you get disqualified. Simple. And if we really want to police it I have no issues volunteering to Police this class ONLY. Duck395 01-02-2010, 05:33 PM please dont take this the wrong way im just curious. why is there such a demand to put 1/8 scale tires on a short course truck?is it performance?im not being a smart alleck im seriously curious. Duck395 01-02-2010, 05:38 PM as i sit here and think about it. i think i would be disappointed if 1/8 wheels and tires were allowed.i just spent quite a bit of money on 2 trucks that im hoping will look like short coarse trucks.if i thought bigger wheels and tires would be an option i probably would have stuck with spec slash. spikeitaudi 01-02-2010, 05:45 PM Duck, I think ppl like Mark already have 1/8th scale tires. So for him he wouldn't have to shell out extra cash to buy new tires. But in my opinion this wouldn't look realistic. Just my opinion only. ta_man 01-02-2010, 05:54 PM please dont take this the wrong way im just curious. why is there such a demand to put 1/8 scale tires on a short course truck?is it performance?im not being a smart alleck im seriously curious. A reason I would have if I were to run 4WD or 2WD mod is sharing tires with another vehicle. That is instead of having to go to a whole new rim and tire size and trying out different combos, only to be stuck with an assortment of tires that will then never be used because they don't work best on the SCT and don' fit anything else. I could try out my existing 1/8th tires and see what worked first and then only have to buy the kind that would fit on the nice looking Pro-5 wheels. So yeah: What Alvin said. Other people may have different reasons. as i sit here and think about it. i think i would be disappointed if 1/8 wheels and tires were allowed.i just spent quite a bit of money on 2 trucks that im hoping will look like short coarse trucks.if i thought bigger wheels and tires would be an option i probably would have stuck with spec slash. No one is suggesting you have to make your cars look bad to you just because they want to use different tires. At least I'm not. daz 01-02-2010, 09:23 PM ADDED A LITTLE BLING TODAY.. http://s286.photobucket.com/home/tedstryker088/index Jerzferno 01-02-2010, 09:35 PM ADDED A LITTLE BLING TODAY.. http://s286.photobucket.com/home/tedstryker088/index Looks nice Daz. I guess im a little stubborn but i really think the realistic factor is whats gonna set this class above most. rcworkshopp 01-02-2010, 11:12 PM THNX MAN...Pro-Line Caliber SC 2.2/3.0 M3 Tires w/Split Six One-Piece Wheels (Black) I have the same set on order. We will NOT be having the meeting at the indoor track location. We will be having it at Zeppelin Hobbies & Raceway 1530 Route 23 North Wayne,N.J.07470 973-872-0400. To have the meeting on a race night, in the past, has delayed the race for the novice racers to get home at a decent hour. Charlie The first outdoor race will be April 25,2010. I will be finishing the complete schedule shortly. rcworkshopp 01-03-2010, 07:13 AM :woohoo: Lap Traffic 01-03-2010, 07:36 AM The first outdoor race will be April 25,2010. I will be finishing the complete schedule shortly. I can already smell the nitro and taste the track dust.:woohoo: Jerzferno 01-03-2010, 08:27 AM Tobey - Thanks for the tip on the Late Model racing. Watching it when I got home last night. Gotta love the DVR. Good racing. The first race was unreal. All that rubber on the track. It looked like the track was asphalt. Not a spec of dust. Thats a rarity for dirt tracks. Dano............did you catch it? I know they were taped from the 2009 season, but nothing like a good dirt race. Can anyone get their hands on some donated plywood and stakes? The oval's outside wall needs some desperate repairs for this coming season. I must have nailed the same few pieces of wall back into place a few times last year. The wood is rotted. Jerzferno 01-03-2010, 08:33 AM Oh I forgot the sound system. The speaker system wiring needs to be replaced. Might be most of the problem we are having with it? Laste year Wayne brought 2 speakers for us to use. Randy and I connected them. The wire insulation is rotted and broken off in places. Get the two conductors to touch at these breaks and the speakers wont work properly. I would imagine the resistance is high on these wires too because of the breaks, age, and most likely corrosion. Charlie - You have directions to Zepplin? never-gro-up 01-03-2010, 08:52 AM hi, if we replace the walls we should make them safer barrier like nascar did to protect the (opps sorry no drivers) NEVER MIND spikeitaudi 01-03-2010, 09:28 AM 17th it is. Can't wait. See you all on the 17th. dano628 01-03-2010, 09:31 AM Tobey - Thanks for the tip on the Late Model racing. Watching it when I got home last night. Gotta love the DVR. Good racing. I know they were taped from the 2009 season, but nothing like a good dirt race. Yes I did. Had already seen it but watched it any way . Thanks also Toby for posting it on the board . I dont have a dvr so I have to watch when its on . dano628 01-03-2010, 09:37 AM Nice. Speaking of the 2010 season, I would imagine the work days would be the few weekends/Saturdays before opening day? Can anyone get their hands on some donated plywood and stakes? The oval's outside wall needs some desperate repairs for this coming season. I must have nailed the same few pieces of wall back into place a few times last year. The wood is rotted. I was planning on on repairing the outside wall . We replaced about 1/3 of it two years ago . Since it is time for a layout change we should replace what needs to be replaced and paint the outside wall not only will it look better it will last longer . Jerzferno 01-03-2010, 10:04 AM I was planning on on repairing the outside wall . We replaced about 1/3 of it two years ago . Since it is time for a layout change we should replace what needs to be replaced and paint the outside wall not only will it look better it will last longer . Absolutely. Painted will last much longer. Keeps the moisutre out. Jerzferno 01-03-2010, 10:08 AM Dano, you have a portable table saw? dano628 01-03-2010, 10:25 AM Dano, you have a portable table saw? Yes I do . Last time I replaced plywood I had the lumberyard rip the plywood down to 12" their saw is better suited for sheet goods . I will see how much we need have it ripped and painted before work day . Then we can paint the rest in place . radsnappy 01-03-2010, 10:26 AM what kind of plywood do we need ? 8 x 2 ? i would be willing to donate some sheets and have them precut . let me know:thumbsup: Lap Traffic 01-03-2010, 10:33 AM Since it is time for a layout change we should replace what needs to be replaced and paint the outside wall not only will it look better it will last longer . I completely agree. Since we are breaking the whole layout down, we have a lot of planning to do. New layout, Drainage and what to do with the outer wall. I hope we can get a good turn out on work days. Manpower is the only way we can get it done. Remember, the people that show are the voices for what is to come. dano628 01-03-2010, 11:11 AM what kind of plywood do we need ? 8 x 2 ? i would be willing to donate some sheets and have them precut . let me know:thumbsup: 1/2" cdx 16" x 8':cool: radsnappy 01-03-2010, 11:17 AM dan , how many panels do you think we need since we get 3 lenths per sheet solographix 01-03-2010, 11:43 AM Derek and I have an old Rack System amplifier that we can use to make the speaker system power larger speakers and ones that are further away. We will need to come up with a large spool of good wire to replace what is there. With the better amplifier we can probably get away with using whatever speakers are there that actually work. If not I had found a good priced online store for outdoor horn type speakers. BBZRacing1 01-03-2010, 11:44 AM Happy New Year everyone from dirt runners.from BBZ Racing  solographix 01-03-2010, 11:45 AM dan , how many panels do you think we need since we get 3 lenths per sheet Just using the 340' drive line as the divisor we would need 42.5 pieces Lap Traffic 01-03-2010, 11:52 AM Speaker wire is reasonable at Firefold.com. They are about the cheapest I have found for any kind of audio/video need. GeorgeW 01-03-2010, 11:59 AM For directions go to www.zephobby.com. Hey, nice to hear from BBZ Racing again. solographix 01-03-2010, 12:01 PM Just found an FM Transmitter that will broadcast up to 450' feet away for $99, I know that had been discussed before also. Lap Traffic 01-03-2010, 12:02 PM Happy New Year everyone from dirt runners.from BBZ Racing  Happy New Year to you guys also. Dust off all that wheeled hardware and come racing this year. never-gro-up 01-03-2010, 12:16 PM Just using the 340' drive line as the divisor we would need 42.5 pieces that means we need 15 4x8 sheets rite solographix 01-03-2010, 12:24 PM that means we need 15 4x8 sheets rite That sounds right to me, plus some extra, I am not sure where the drive line is measured from. Lap Traffic 01-03-2010, 12:31 PM If I remember correctly, we also need some plywood repairs to the driver's stand floor. While we're at it we might also consider rebuilding/repairing the staging area. dano628 01-03-2010, 01:25 PM That sounds right to me, plus some extra, I am not sure where the drive line is measured from. drive line is measured where you drive about 5' off the bottom . dano628 01-03-2010, 01:36 PM that means we need 15 4x8 sheets rite Really dont think it all has to be replaced . It costs about 13.50 a sheet I know Charlie will approve the cost of plywood and paint . We should also look into the purchase of a finish drag mat like Brian let us use last year . vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
