I have seen Grossi engines before . They are not IMAR or ROAR approved . They work on a gravity system like the original watercooled Motocross bikes . There was a thead on RCtech a while back .:cool: rcworkshopp 05-10-2010, 11:26 AM The kid is at school, The wife is at work, This is a great recipe for RC work shop time! tobamiester 05-10-2010, 11:28 AM The kid is at school, The wife is at work, This is a great recipe for RC work shop time! Been doing the exact same thing this am :) Jerzferno 05-10-2010, 11:50 AM Must be nice. I get a little taste of RC during the week while on my lunch break. What happened to Sprint and or EDM Jerzferno 05-10-2010, 03:09 PM I didnt get a brushless system for the EDM yet. And seeing the class races so late in the day, I probably wont now. Just like Slash off road. Its dead last and I dont want to stay that late to race it. I will be packed up and ready to go while Alvin is racing E/8. Ill be all done racing by that time. I thought I had the sprint fixed? The slipper was toast. But after test running it, I still hear something in the gear box thats not right? Everything looked ok, but something sounds off. Maybe a bearing which I didnt really look at. Whether I have it ready for Sunday is doubtful at this moment. Thats what I get for trying to run a toy with the big boys. rcworkshopp 05-10-2010, 03:30 PM OK, Again I have the metal diff gear if needed. I will have it on Sunday. ta_man 05-10-2010, 03:31 PM I didnt get a brushless system for the EDM yet. And seeing the class races so late in the day, I probably wont now. Just like Slash off road. I have toasted both a slipper and an idler in two separate heats on one day with my Cobra Sprint. It was the first of the two days of the 2008 Challenge. Fortunately, there was still the third qualifier on Sunday. Jerzferno 05-10-2010, 06:45 PM OK, Again I have the metal diff gear if needed. I will have it on Sunday. The gears look good. Ill see if I have time to open it up again and check once more. Ill let ya know about the diff gear. thanks! dabishop24 05-10-2010, 08:55 PM Hey guys. Was thinking of headed up to the track tommorow to get a few laps in. If any work needs to be done I'd be more then happy to pitch in. I know when I stopped by there Saturday the whoops looked a little bare. Got some shovels and a wheel barrel if needed. Just let me know if someone will be there to open the gate or whatever. I'm off all day, so was thinking of gettin up there around noon, ofcoarse weather permitting. Thanks. BRIAN PS YES I WILL BE AT DIRT RUNNERS ON MAY 16TH Are you going electric or nitro truggy? This class is struggling to stay alive. tobamiester 05-11-2010, 08:11 AM Are you going electric or nitro truggy? This class is struggling to stay alive. Which class Stephen ? SC Mod or Open monster (truggy) - Both had at least 3 heats last race . Jerzferno 05-11-2010, 10:10 AM Which class Stephen ? SC Mod or Open monster (truggy) - Both had at least 3 heats last race . Truggy is dieing. Cant count last week because that was opening day. Most classes had above average entries. We had 183 entries on opening day? Thats like the first day of the Challenge. We normally get around 100? Theres about 6 to 7 dedicated racers in truggy. All others are hit and miss. Its a far cry from 3 years ago when we would routinely get 3 to 4 1/8th scale nitro buggy heats and 2 to 3 truggy heats. Look where we are now. Its a shame. Sounds alive and kicking to me.. tobamiester 05-11-2010, 04:42 PM Alvin, I think I found your 8th Scale wheel nut :) spikeitaudi 05-11-2010, 04:46 PM Alvin, I think I found your 8th Scale wheel nut :) HOw did you find it? It is a closed hex no opening in the cetner. If it is that is it. tobamiester 05-11-2010, 04:48 PM HOw did you find it? It is a closed hex no opening in the cetner. If it is that is it. Oh, its a regular looking 8th scale wheel nut. Was on the track at the beginning of the whoops... spikeitaudi 05-11-2010, 04:57 PM Don't think that is it. Mine had the center closed off (dust cap) and was bronze or black in colar I think. Tug Speedman 05-11-2010, 05:08 PM Bob, your gonna need that nose wing this sunday! Lap Traffic 05-11-2010, 06:09 PM Bob, your gonna need that nose wing this sunday! To help push that red Havoc out of the way? I'm not afraid:) Lap Traffic 05-11-2010, 06:12 PM Mark, do you still have the sheet from the last sprint qualifier? If so, what was my fastest lap? tobamiester 05-11-2010, 06:14 PM guys, I have an Associated DS1015 Servo in my 8th scale. Just stripped the second servo horn in as many weeks. Need to get an Aluminum replacement. I think this servo is the same as the Ace DS1015, and hoping I can get an arm for that and it will work. I know Hitec don't work. Anyone have any ideas ? spikeitaudi 05-11-2010, 06:26 PM What about JR or Futaba splines? I know a company makes an aluminum horn with inserts for all the manufacturer splines. Can't remember what it is called. I think Ofna makes it. solographix 05-11-2010, 06:26 PM guys, I have an Associated DS1015 Servo in my 8th scale. Toby - The Associated 1015 and Ace 1015 are the same servo, Both are a 25T spline, which is what Futaba also uses, so aluminum ones are easy to find. Check out the Racers Edge clamp on ones - awesomely strong and will never strip. Hitec uses a 24T spline (and no one else does, which is why servo horns for Hitec can be harder to find sometimes). Almost everything else uses a 23T - Airtronics, JR, etc. tobamiester 05-11-2010, 06:57 PM Toby - The Associated 1015 and Ace 1015 are the same servo, Both are a 25T spline, which is what Futaba also uses, so aluminum ones are easy to find. I'll try and swing by Critters tomorrow and see if they have anything. Otherwise I guess i'll have to get Brown back to my house ..sigh.... :freak: Tug Speedman 05-11-2010, 07:09 PM To help push that red Havoc out of the way?
