So who's psyched up about the 2010 season? I was ok until I went to the track and practiced on Sunday. Man I cant wait to race.

I am completely welcoming the break between Indoor & Outdoor. My nerves, judgment and mindset are all shot and need a reset.

I'll be more psyched when I figure out exactly what I'm running! I'm on for 1/10th 4wd and Slash Spec either oval or off-road for sure, but the third class is still a mystery. The 1/8th scale is up for sale, but I'm not giving it away esp. if I have to ship, so if no good offers come soon, I may just re-commission it with new tires and pick up some of the cheap 4S hardcase packs from HK......April's approaching rapidly!

I've been having some trouble setting up a dirt delivery. Seems Hanson Aggregates of Easton Pa. doesn't like to answer their phone. I've been using them for a few years now, not sure what the problem is. The clay mix we use is Best Top#23, pitchers mound clay. If anyone can find it or more info where to get it let me know. Some searching yields these numbers you may also try.

(610) 253-4271 (570) 992-4951 (215) 598-3152 (610) 377-3585

All are numbers for different offices and branches which will most likely get you to where you need to be.

Charlie, try Partac Peat in Great Meadows. I have no idea what their pricing is offhand, but they supply the infield mix and mound mix for a LOT of athletic programs.

After looking at their site, even if they don't have the exact stuff, they will know what to get you that's correct. Man they have a ton of clays.

Just some Novak news incase you guys didn't hear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOr2duz8cQg

The official Novak Slash 4x4 ESC/Motor package will be out in a couple of months. It will include a baseplate for the ESC to mount directly onto the Traxxas Slash 4x4 chassis as well. Since this is a 5mm rotor you will need a new pinion that Novak can supply as well. The ESC is a Havoc Pro that will already have the TRX connector inplace. You can choose from the 4.5/5.5/6.5 HV Brushless motor. I'll have my Slash outfitted with this package shortly for testing. So anybody that is interested can take it for a spin next time up at the track.

Not really understanding the points system in this class myself. Hoping someone can explain how if you don't actually race, you still get points???? :freak:

I think if you sign up, since you go into the computer you get last place points.

Not happy about that. Not one bit.

Note to self: Sign up for all classes in advance of all 2010 racedays, I'll likely win something if it dont run much.
That strategy might not work. You don't get the points if the class doesn't run on a particular day, even if you are signed up. No one gets points for a race for a class that doesn't run on a given race day.

It is a change to the graphic in the flash files - i am no flash expert by any stretch of the imagination and can't do it myself.

If a supplier hasn't been found yet, Diamond Tex might be worth a try also: http://www.diamondtex.com/default.aspx?Portalid=9004&tabid=93
or Cedar Hill landscape: http://www.cedarhilllandscaping.com/products.asp?cat=4&hierarchy=0&prod=20

I was going to suggest Bestop because my company spec'd their mix for baseball fields for years with good results but apparently they went under:confused: and I didn't hear about it...

Okey-doky. I am officially out of E-8th scale; I shipped my RC8 to its new home this morning. Now, what to do......I think I can handle running three classes since Slash Spec is pretty much charge-n-go, and the 1/10th 4wd is a good bit simpler to deal with than 1/8th scale.

But what to run? Pondering an oval car(sprint-Slider, maybe?) or a 2wd buggy, but it looks like 4wd S.C. is the hot ticket this year. How many guys do we have committed to that class now? Anybody have opinions on Slash vs Ofna vs Jammin? Idle thoughts on my lunch break...

There is a truck load (pun intended) of Slash 4x4's going to be running. Derek has an SCRT10. Sure there are plenty of other mod trucks joining the SC party.
Sprint will be pretty big this year too. And sounds like plenty of people running 2WD 1/10 buggy as well as 4WD. So pick your poison. Good thing is their all 2s so that meets one of you basic requirements, of simple battery management.

I think the last count was 15 4wd SC trucks.

The dirt delivery situation has been resolved. We will be receiving 25 tons of new clay on Thursday April 8. Thankyou to everyone who offered help, that's why this club is so great. I will be removing the pipe from the offroad track on our dirt delivery day, since my time available on saturday the 10th is basically nil. Charlie

Just have to add shock oil and work out the gearing.

Now its on to the rest of the BoD stable.

Special thanks to Adam
