I am in for 4WD 1/10 and 2WD 1/10 Buggy Offroad. Who else is planning on running these classes ? I know Ray got a B44, and JT and Mike a Kyosho 4WD, Matt a Tamiya Durga, so thats 4 cars for 4WD. Who else ? Ok tosser, I mean Tobey, you seem a little annoyed at me asking questions? Thats what this thread is for right? Maybe you would plop down $300 for something without knowing exactly what comes with it. I dont have bottomless pockets for this hobby like you seem to have. Daz, sorry for all the questions, no sale. I need the Tx and Rx as well. Hopefully someone else from the club picks it up. solographix 03-11-2010, 08:37 AM Ok, Blimey .... Who else ? You guys know I'll be there for 2wd Buggy and I might also run 4WD buggy. daz 03-11-2010, 10:19 AM mark would make that 5..what about Tim i thought he was gonna run this class also. my off-road fleet is ready to go both RT5 and SP diffs were rebuilt with ceramic balls..new wheels and tires new paint jobs...new motors hurry up April.. ta_man 03-11-2010, 10:46 AM mark would make that 5..what about Tim i thought he was gonna run this class also. my off-road fleet is ready to go both RT5 and SP diffs were rebuilt with ceramic balls..new wheels and tires new paint jobs...new motors hurry up April.. I'm sure there will be more than 5 2WD buggies. There are people that race them that are not on this board every 5 minutes :) to instantaneously respond to questions like that (asking how many are running the class). daz 03-11-2010, 11:01 AM I'm sure there will be more than 5 2WD buggies. There are people that race them that are not on this board every 5 minutes :) to instantaneously respond to questions like that (asking how many are running the class). my response of 5 was pointed towards the 4wd class not 2wd buggy ... dano628 03-11-2010, 11:19 AM I have been thinking of adding an offroad vehicle for this year more for playing with when I'm up at the track doing track prep and G9 testing . Have been leaning toward Slash 4x4 but thats more money I can spend on the L8 and Sprinter so who knows. ta_man 03-11-2010, 11:53 AM my response of 5 was pointed towards the 4wd class not 2wd buggy ... Oh. The reason I mentioned the 2WD is because you said "what about Tim i thought he was gonna run this class also". Last I heard about Tim is that he was only going to run one class: 2WD Buggy. But now I realize that was from an email Tim sent to Brian Carey which you would not have seen. I have been thinking of adding an offroad vehicle for this year more for playing with when I'm up at the track doing track prep and G9 testing . Have been leaning toward Slash 4x4 but thats more money I can spend on the L8 and Sprinter so who knows. I've got an XX-4 roller for sale for $100. But you need saddle packs. rcworkshopp 03-11-2010, 11:57 AM I will be running 2wd and 4wd buggy. Jerzferno 03-11-2010, 12:00 PM I will be running 2wd and 4wd buggy. Hey night owl. Whats up? BuzzBomber 03-11-2010, 12:01 PM Moving on. How many folks running 1/10 Buggy this coming Season. I am in for 4WD 1/10 and 2WD 1/10 Buggy Offroad. Who else is planning on running these classes ? I know Ray got a B44, and JT and Mike a Kyosho 4WD, Matt a Tamiya Durga, so thats 4 cars for 4WD. Who else ? Well, you already know I'm in for 1/10 4wd, at least until I wear out the chassis. I've thought about doing 2wd buggy as well, but I'd rather get the 1/8th scale sold and switch to SC/Slash 4x4. If I do that, the 2wd Slash will likely only get run on oval duty unless that class fades out. The Slash based LM class discussed elsewhere would be interesting, but Mark was right, it probably wouldn't get any interest at DR. Here's another question: How many are planning on running EDMs this year? Is that class going back into hiding again? It was kind of neat seeing electric full bodied dirt oval cars out last season. It would be neat to see those buggy based EDM cars with 1/10 LM bodies, too. Not trying to start MORE classes and don't intend to run it anyway, just letting my thoughts spill out onto the keyboard. EDM seems to be hit or miss. I was all set to buy an 8.5 brushless system to run that class but then Traxxas struck again. As soon as I saw that 4x4 Slash I had to have one. So EDM for me is on the back burner. BuzzBomber 03-11-2010, 12:14 PM As soon as I saw that 4x4 Slash I had to have one. So EDM for me is on the back burner. I hear you loud and clear. I'd love to have one of everything, but I'm realizing that running 3, maybe 4 classes is my limit, between funding and maintenance. Besides, funding new racing ventures doesn't seem to be included in the "reinvestment and recovery" act:rolleyes:(silly me, all I heard was "stimulus funds" and "R&R"), so toy money is tight this year...:p rcworkshopp 03-11-2010, 12:15 PM I will have my EDM to run if there is enough people. dano628 03-11-2010, 12:42 PM Toby pm tobamiester 03-11-2010, 12:49 PM Toby pm Thanks mate. never-gro-up 03-11-2010, 04:14 PM i'm in for edm, stingray Grumpynm 03-11-2010, 07:42 PM Brian jr and I ill be running Edm this year ...I will also be trying my driving skills in sprint...and two wheel drive buggy for us both Jerzferno 03-12-2010, 08:12 AM Didnt you guys run 2wd buggy last year? Grumpynm 03-12-2010, 09:03 AM Yes Jr and I ran Rustler,EDM,two wheel drive buggy and he runs 1/8 scale truck also.the sprint class will be new to me this year...I say sorry to all before we start racing...open wheel at high speed....this will be fun... sleepy91804 03-12-2010, 09:59 AM that's if i do not punt that 1/8 scale buggy this year dano628 03-12-2010, 11:36 AM that's if i do not punt that 1/8 scale buggy this yeardid you find a esc and motor yet ? sleepy91804 03-12-2010, 12:16 PM ya i bought a tekin rx8 and 2050 motor dano628 03-12-2010, 12:31 PM Not going to get any fuel through it today Toby to cold . Still should have it done by this weekend . Jerzferno 03-12-2010, 12:51 PM that's if i do not punt that 1/8 scale buggy this year That seems to be the going trend. I punted mine and believe Matt and Tim as well? ta_man 03-12-2010, 12:56 PM That seems to be the going trend. I punted mine and believe Matt and Tim as well? But why? They are so much fun! Jerzferno 03-12-2010, 01:08 PM But why? They are so much fun! I enjoyed nitro 1/8th scale. Then I bought the Slash. After the races it was several seconds of compressed air on the slash vs an hour of scraping off nitro soaked mud, after run, cleaning the fuel filter, cleaning the air filter, and generally dirtier all around vs electric. And believe it ot not, the nitro buggy requires much more batteries and charging than the Slash. Glow ignitors (1 for back up), Rx packs (1 for back up) and starter box batt. Slash, 1 pack. So I figured convert the Inferno to electric. Just wasnt there for me? Maybe because of all the trouble and down time I had with my ESC and motor rotor coming unglued? Dont know? But I have much more fun in other classes. Cant be because I cant drive it. I had 2 TQ's and 1win last year................while it was running. 1/8th scale is also more expensive than 1/10th scale generally speaking. Either way just lost interest in it. sleepy91804 03-12-2010, 01:13 PM the only reason i will punt my 1/8 this year if it gives my as many problems as last year but with the new tekin system it should be good Jerzferno 03-12-2010, 01:14 PM the only reason i will punt my 1/8 this year if it gives my as many problems as last year but with the new tekin system it should be good Make sure you have the latest and greatest motor. They had an unglueing problem too. sleepy91804 03-12-2010, 01:16 PM i just bought it from stommer so i would guess it is good BuzzBomber 03-12-2010, 03:30 PM But why? They are so much fun! You're right, they definitely are fun to drive. FWIWl, mine's not gone yet, but it is up for sale ATM. One big problem for me is that without a dedicated charging 12v source to run both my chargers, I had a lot of trouble keeping my batteries topped up for both the 1/8th scale (2 batteries), the Slash, and the 1/10 scale buggy between the heats and races. I wound up with a dead battery in my car on more than one occasion last season......and I literally cannot fit a deep cycle battery in my car to power the chargers and avoid that scenario; the mustang vert is not exactly capacious in terms of cargo room. I don't like letting the car sit idling forever. So it's either buy more batteries or simplify. Plus, there's just too many adjustments for me on the big buggies in terms of suspension, steering, and differential setups. It seemed like it took me most of the season last year to arrive at a setup that worked for the track and my driving style. That's more of a personal argument for me though, some guys love doing setup and are good at it. Strangely, it seemed like most of the folks who had issues in E-8 last season had motor/esc issues - my MMM/2200kv motor setup was flawless, save the one snafu with the power switch. Replaced that and all was good. No cogging, overheating, resetting or anything else. HYDE16 03-12-2010, 04:33 PM I'll be running E-8 buggy with my MMM/2200kv.
