Sounds a lot like operator error:)

Is that what you are going to call it when your sprinter is all over the track on the big oval. LOL

Anyone look at the classes offered and the new classes / limited classes for 2009? If you estimate what we have averaged for heats last year and what might possibly run with the new/limited 2009 classes. We could be up to 25 heats or better. Anyone have a generator and work lights?

I fully expect to be ALL OVER THE OVAL. I'll have to use the whole track to drive around the LOSIs;)

Your computer didn't update the page. It was pulling it from cache most likely. Well have to update your IE setting with refreshing the page everytime you hit the page.

I would put a shot back across your bow, but this year is going to be quite different than last. We will have a full field of sprinters. So traffic is going to be some what of a concern. 10......Fast......open wheel........sprint cars.....fast track.....should be fun. I think the person who can avoid the wrecks is going to be the guy that comes out on top as opposed to who has the fastest sprint car......regardless of manufacturer.

Chris, come out on the work days. Especially the first if you cant make them all. Thats when we decide on the new layout and start building. All input is welcome.

If nothing else Indoor sprints has taught me patience in passing and staying out of trouble. When a lap is 3.5 seconds, one wreck costs you the race.

I was just down at Xtreme. Chris was tuning an 8th scale buggy outside. The sun was beating down on me, and together with the smell of Nitro fumes was a great taste of the Outdoors season to come :)

what time does the day start, and end? Back when I raced we had 4 minute races, has this changed? Are the classes full on a regular basis, I am looking to run oval, 2wd stock, 2wd prostock wedge, nascar and sprint, maybe modified but can't seem to find parts for a reflex 10 anymore.

John,

Race days start at 11am (Racing), Registration CLOSES at 10:15. You can see the schedule here:

http://www.dirtrunners.com/documents/2010outdoorflyer1.JPG

As far as racing we run 5 minute heats and Mains are 5 also except the Amain which is 10.

Depending on the class will depend on how many entries. Maybe somebody else can chime in about the classes for oval but I don't recognize those classes you have listed besides the modified, sprint, and 2wd Stock (Rustler). Those we do run. I don't remember seeing prostock wedge or Nascar.

I hope you get to come out as it is a fun day with great ppl and great racing.

how crowded is sprint? And what sprints are they running. I have one of the original piano wire sprint cars/rc10 stealth, Doc's old car if you remember him.

Somewhere around 8-10 (maybe more). Several Custom Works, several Losi sliders, one Hyperdrive/GFRP Havoc, some converted/home built cars.

I don't know how many indoor guys are running outdoors.

For those of you that ran at Outtacontrol in Langhorne, well it seems another track bites the dust. I just spoke to Jim Defeo who use to help run the track for the owner and he said basically the owner has been trying to sell the property since Nov and hasn't spoken to him to race this year so that track is officially dead. Jim and his crew will be racing at Hobby hut but will also venture over to DR at somepoint this year.

With that said anybody hear of anything going on with the offroad track at Trains and lanes this year? I know Paul and a couple of others were interested in heading to the LI and Jacksonville, NJ track. That should be fun. A trip to Family Hobbies in Vineland would be nice also.

Nothing at all coming out of T&L that I've heard. The owners continue to be totally dissinterested. With where you and Steve are located, you guys should check out Trax 70 in Browns Mills and Checkerboard in Elwood. Jackson is strictly onroad - no offroad there anymore. Family Hobby in Vineland puts on a great show - worth the trip. And of course Station 2, although that's a ride for you.

That stinks. T&L had a decent track. I would like to check out the other tracks you mentioned as well, but with family commitments and my son will be racing with me at DR in the novice class this year it should be interesting to see how much I can hit the other tracks other then Station 2.

Its a digital clock with a card reader. They swipe their company ID. I go into the data base for my guys on my desk top PC and approve their time. Pretty standard in my industry. Not what you are probably thinking. Paper card into a slot and press a knob and it ink stamps the time and date. Yes thats old technology.

Gary have you been by there lately? I heard the biggest complaint was the location of the drivers stand. I also heard (the source is pretty reliable) that they moved it to the Route 33 side of the track very late in the summer. Was wondering why they would spend the money on doing that if they dont plan to race? Was a great place for us to go on the Dirt Runners off race weekends.

Yes sir. In fact.....I was so pumped up on the excitement of today, and also getting my brake/throttle servo and installing it into the LM, that I went the whole hog and got my used motor installed, pipe, fuel lines etc. Put some fuel in it and went out side and holy smoke, I got it started! woo hoo...Of course I quickly learned a lesson. It stopped and wouldn't start. Glow starter was dead :)

In the process of trying to figure out why i couldn't get it started I messed with some of the carb settings...so i'll have to figure out how to undo all that..But after a quick charge of the glow starter it fired up again :)

So..now that I ran it a couple of mins. it leads me to some VERY basic questions...1. Do I need to put some after-run oil in the carb area ? 2. should I drain the tank or can i leave it a day , so i can play with it tomorrow.

Thats great. Are you new to racing? We have a novice oval class for beginners. Seems to be taken over by Slashes. But its a very competetive and fun class for beginners. You also have Slash oval and Slash off road. Slash off road is the most popular class which gets in excess of 20 entries every race day. You have lots of options to run your Slash. Welcome!!
