These are the steel gears from the DO 31010 Ring and 30130 pinion. The pinion is steel in both cars (same part #) according to the manuals.

Glad you guys finally had a nice weather day to race. I was busy doing the family thing, still settling into having double the parenting workload; good news is my son is about as low-maintenance as a newborn can be. So, let's hope it stays that way and I can get a pass for at least ONE race day before the season's over...

I think it may be Wayne that has to do this but shouldn't the standings be "Best 11 out of 13" instead of "Best 8 out of 10"?

We've got 9 races in and 3 more to go with the Challenge being double points.

Make sure you disassemble your diff before you order the gears. You may need the diff case cover 30751 and ring gear mounting hardware 30121 also.

King Headz makes an aluminium cover. I have had two of the plastic ones fail, but none this season.

I would like to propose for indoor 1/10 oval pan cars we go with 17.5 1 cell and the COT body with a limit on speed controls. This is by far the largest class running at most of the tracks in the northeast. This way people can plan for the class. Also makes it easier for the DR people that travel to other tracks. And also may bring some new blood in.

This class can rub and bump without sending the cars flying. It is plenty fast too.

I'd go for the motor and speed control rule (by "limit" I assume you mean no dynamic timing, so a Havoc and GTB would be competitive in the class) but leave the bodies open so the pre-COT bodies can be used at the driver's discretion.

went up to the track early this morning , wasnt as dry and dusty as i thought it would be , it was actually pretty good , lots of ruts and bumps though, needs a little grooming , im sure it will get it before the challange.

I already have a body that protects the rear of my car. It isn't cut out yet.

The body would have to be a COT body. I know proline and mc callister both make them. If you cut it on the line all the cars will be the same height give or take tire size. Other tracks are running this class with great sucess. And yes those speedo's you mentioned would be able to compete. I think it will make for much better racing all around.

you guys are so funny, all i was saying was it was a little more beat up than usual, i would leave it that way , but some of you guys dont like to get your stuff to dirty on an off road track, so im sure the extra ruts and big holes might get you upset too ,just being organic lol:thumbsup:

I hope some volunteers show for track prep next Friday or it will be mighty ORGANIC for the Challenge.

Well if you have never experienced the Challenge, there will be nothing left of the track by the end of Saturday's qualifying rounds, if it's not prepped. It will need work Sunday morning also.

I'll only be working on the oval anyway. Hope some folks show for the offroad.:rolleyes:

So you are saying I shouldn't have put the two wheelbarrows full of dirt in the washout on the off-road track because it would have been OK for you if your car dropped a wheel into that hole and it got ripped off?:wave:

I don't think everyone feels that way. I think most people would like to finish the races they run in.

Of course, you could just avoid the hole, right? But without maintenance, eventually there isn't any track left to actually race on. That's why I spent part of last Friday afternoon shoveling brown stuff (dirt :lol:).
