You sure have had a s*#& season.
For crying out loud, get that thing on the track already. The challenge is coming!
Use the NINJA if you need a MOTOR.

Well at least I will have a fresh Vspec under the hood for the challenge . I am hoping J.T. didn't hurt the Frankenspec too bad going to put another head button in it and give it a shot . Plug was leaking badly she ran pretty lean and got very hot . I am hoping it is not done but now I have a backup plan for the challenge .:cool:

Lap Traffic 08-26-2010, 03:17 PM I installed a large hook on the rear of the tractor to make it easier to use the attachments. No more pins ETC.
I am going to try and get there tonight so I can install the new link on the tongue of the roller so it can be connected to the hook.

Not too sure yet. If I do head up I'll call you.
Lap Traffic 08-26-2010, 09:13 PM A quick track report.
I just returned from the track. From the center of the track to the end nearest the food stand, the offroad track is almost all standing water an inch or so deep. I don't think it will dry out on its own even if it tomorrow is bright and sunny as forecast.
I installed the link on the roller tongue.
Jammin MattDog 08-27-2010, 01:01 AM I actually have email notification but it is sloooow.
But if it bugs you, I have to keep doing it:tongue::wave:
LOL, It seems like the majority of the time I log into this thread it shows your handle on the bottom as "people currently viewing this thread".

How many engines do you go through in a year? The electric motor in my LM is 2 seasons old and still runs like new.
dano628 08-27-2010, 02:58 PM How many engines do you go through in a year? The electric motor in my LM is 2 seasons old and still runs like new.
If the glow plug hadn't been cross threaded and leaking and the engine run very lean there wouldn't have been a problem as it is she might be ok . I have to put another head button in it and try it . I got this engine because it was a hell of a deal more then I needed it . Besides that it doesn't really matter how long your electric motor lasts it will never be as cool as a nitro engine therefore even if I used one up ever year it would be worth it .
dano628 08-27-2010, 03:10 PM Now to be serious for a minute and that is hard for me . Charlie and Dave are on their second full season with their engines J.T. has a season and a half on his engine that had 10 gallons on it ( about 5 seasons of offroad ) when he started using it in L8 . I rebuilt last years engine for mine not because it was worn out ( it wasn't ) because I put a speed piston ,sleeve , rod , and ceramic bearings in it to make it faster . I cant really answer your question just like a brushless motor it depends on how hot you get it .
hermsrc 08-27-2010, 04:22 PM :tongue:dano i got a engine for you on sunday orion crf us spec................. fast as hell....;):freak:

tobamiester 08-27-2010, 08:39 PM Track Report
I worked the Oval as best I could. First time track-tractor driver and that thing is kinda of a bitch. The track is better than it was. You'll all be the judge on Sunday. Mark filled the huge hole on the inside of Turn 4 where water had eroded it.
Offroad. Phew, what a Titanic mess. Like Bob said, it was under water. Swept all the water off it. Good news is the drain works :)
The section below the whoops is trashed and needs alot of dirt. And its all pretty wet near the end with the sweeper. A good day of sun, and plenty of dry dirt is what it needs. Mark put several barrow loads of dirt out there, but it needs plenty more.
I know Damon is going up tomorrow to work on it. If anyone else can get up there to help out, that would be great. I left out a spade, Rake and tamper for people to help out.
I had a real hard time getting the pump to start but got there in the end. A little fuel in the carb seemed to help . I'll try and pick up a new spark plug for it before Sunday.
boborc 08-27-2010, 09:01 PM I throw this out every year but if anyone is interest in joining a pickem football pool that I run contact me at sullysmail@gmail.com for more info Bob O

My electric motor is way cooler than a Nitro engine! It ends up at 130F after a 5 minute race. Bet you can't get your nitro engine to run that cool.:tongue:

So that one engine was an exception. That's not so bad.
yea but those grinding gears dont sound badass!!!!!
I think they sound badass. They almost drive Dano crazy!
(They're not really grinding. The mesh is near perfect.)

Wayne Miele 08-28-2010, 08:32 PM You guys missed an awesome race day at Station 2 today. We had 70 entries and still ran 2 heats and the mains. We also had a long jump competition to boot. We raised 700.00 dollars for the charity Cystic Fibrosis in Kids. That made it all worthwhile. See you all in the morning.
Wayne Miele 08-28-2010, 09:00 PM Only 89 entries so far. Kind of low for sat. night before a race. Call all your friends and remind them that we are racing Drtrunner's Style in the morning. Some may have forgotten.
Gary NJ 08-28-2010, 09:44 PM Wayne -

Entries for DR:
