I've got a Novak Havoc ESC and a Novak 13.5 for $110 cash. It is the smooth can 13.5 with sintered rotor. I could substitute a Trinity Pulse 13.5 for the Novak 13.5 and take $15 off, but I would have to test if the Havoc will run the Pulse (Havoc only runs motors with a temp sensor). This Havoc has the software upgrade from Novak.

Hey i would really prefer the Trinity pulse 13.5 or the novak motor if you can get that to work..consider it sold.. question will the Trinity come soldered up to esc or will i have to get it done...

Well, I'll have to solder it to the ESC to test it, so I'll just leave it that way. I'll let you know if the Pulse works and if not, I'll attach the 13.5 novak.

One question: Are you going to run this outdoors? If so you may be better off with the Novak becaus ethe Trinity has those vent openings at the front of the motor and the rear bearing is exposed.

PM me your phone number and we can talk about when to do the transaction.

If you want to do it because you want to say you did the conversion yourself then you should figure out how to do it yourself.

If you want to do it because you want an electric 4WD buggy instead of a nitro buggy you should sell it and buy an electric 4WD buggy. A real electric will be lighter and run better than a conversion of a 1/10th scale Nitro.

If you want an electric 4WD buggy, I have this XX-4 for sale for $110 [cash - not including the servo]: http://s92437987.onlinehome.us/ebaypics/Misc/xx4-a.jpg

You could easily spend more than that on a conversion and end up with something that doesn't run anywhere near as well.

I drove Toby's tonight for a few laps on the carpet oval. It was cool.:woohoo:

I kind of doubt you could use the brakes on dirt to the same extent you can on carpet, but it was neat seeing the nose drive and the pick up again when you punch it.

You (obviously) didn't read the Oval thread to see that I posted that I wasn't going to make the race yesterday because my wife broke her ankle last Sunday and is on crutches so I couldn't really leave her alone for the 12-14 hour race day. I cancelled my entries. But I thought maybe I could just go to the track for a short time and run 2 mains. So I called Wayne up Saturday and told him I would be there for the Slash Oval and Sprint Car mains and just start last with no qualifying time. After those were run I came home again. So that was my new record for the minimum time I spent at an RC car track and that's why I got home so early (actually at 10:45). It was also a new record for the minimum amount of equipment I took to an RC car track - the two cars with 1 battery for each, no spare tires or parts and no tools whatsoever, plus the radios. [I won both mains.]

I think it is pretty nice. I think the additional toe in afforded by the PE rear carriers will help at DR but I wonder if it would be possible to get that same effect using plastic HPI carriers that also have built-in toe. In my stash of parts I have some HPI carriers that I could try and see if they fit regular Rustler rear A-Arms (which is about what the 4X4 uses).

We'll see if it is days or millenia.

Sorry to hear about the Mrs. Hope she recovers quickly. You are correct in that I did not read the Indoor oval thread that you were not making the race. I have not posted on either indoor thread because I dont race indoors. Nothing for me to say. I scoped out the indoor on road thread a few times when it started to see what was going on with indoor sprints. But thats about it.
Let me know what you find if/when you fit HPI carriers to Rustler arms? Curious of your findings.

Randy. I was doing my monthly battery cycling. Had the EDM out on the driveway. I was surpried it did not wheelie on the pavement like I expected. It was really fast too. Question I have, where does the bottom edge of your body line up with the chassis? Mine was hitting the driveway in the corners. Was wondering if I have it mounted too low? Its mounted on the stock XXX CR mounts. Did you mount yours differently?

Something Novak did. The first Havocs that came out had this problem of internittent shutoff. I had read about it and when mine started doing it I called Novak and they said to send it in for reprogramming. Something to do with the low voltage cutoff. Haven't had any problems since I got it back.

Happy Birthday Bob. Not Lap Traffic anymore, more like lapping traffic from what I saw last night. Matt Stefans and I both ran 5 classes last night. It helps with a top flight crew though, (thanks Nick) Hey, Steve and Alvin you may want to take in, an indoor race, ask Howie of his thoughts last night, especially slash off-road. You guys don't know what your missing. Mr. President, starting his eighth year. Isn't someone elses turn yet?

And I do agree with Bob, nobody can do the President thing better then you. And to the rest of the board thank you guys for all your hardwork and dedication. :)

I would love to try my hand one of these days with an indoor race, but that might be tuff with the current family obligations. :)

This year's work days will be April 10,11,17 & 18, with a practice day on saturday the 24. This is the year we would be redesigning the off-road track, if mother nature allows it. I will be ordering a truck load of dirt for us. I myself can only commit to a few hours on the saturday dates, sunday is a much better day for me in the warmer months. Remember we will be discussing outdoor and indoor rules at the rules meeting at Zeppelin Hobbies on Sunday January 17 at 3:00 p.m.

Stinger - I have an EDM ready to go. But with all the cars I have right now, Ill be running 2 or 3 classes consistently. I will be switching on and off between sprint car and EDM. If I start to do better in one over the other, Ill stick with that one. The way its looking, it may be EDM I stick with since my sprint program is not that good. Only time will tell. But toss me into the EDM mix.

The people that show up decide on the layout.

The track has to remain friendly to ALL classes. This is one reason the jumps are not larger.

just curious how does this whole track redesign work? do people vote on it?..

dirtrunners off-road track needs more jumps this year...and bigger why not use the oval like they do at the Station..I'm just saying

I was present at the last track design change. Nick has many track plans. Whoever was there picked from the plans and we set them aside. Then we picked from that stack until we came out with the eventual winner. This in not to say we only choose from what Nick has. He asked who else has any track plans? No one else did. The track design is based on who is there on day one and what the majority decides. So if you have an idea or two, draw them up and bring them with you to the first work day.

As far as more jumps and bigger jumps is concerned, its a good idea. But we need to make a track that is friendly to all classes. We cant design a track for 1/8th scale. Some of the other classes would have a hard time navigating a 1/8th scale track. So we have to meet in the middle. Bigger jumps? Same thing. Additionally we need to remember we have an oval outside the off road track. We cannot obstruct the oval with monster off road jumps.

Using the oval I dont think is an option. The oval gets dragged wet and rolled to make the smoothest possible surface we can. Where ever an off road vehicle enters and leaves the oval, deep ruts will start to form. The off road vehicles will tear up the oval more than it gets torn up now with oval classes only running it. We would waste a lot of time making repairs to the oval in between heats and mains to make it smooth again.

Thats the way Ive seen it done 2 years ago, and my thoughts on using the oval. It would be nice to have 2 separate tracks. But that will cost the club a lot of money to accomplish. It also would require a lot of man power which aside from the last 2 years Im told was relatively low. Also on race days, its the same half dozen guys working on the tracks each time. If more people pitched in, there would be more possibilities, quicker prep time, and less wasted time.
