Hate to sound like a grandpa here, but I hope your not planing on going to the track Thursday after having surgery. You don't need sand getting in there, but hell you'll probably throw cation to the wind. I don't need a half blind step father ya know!
BL_Trackstar 06-30-2010, 03:49 AM Gary...PM sent.

dano628 06-30-2010, 10:09 AM Derek and I are cooking up something special for the next race! But, which class is it for???
My guess is 1/8 scale offroad or truggy .
dano628 06-30-2010, 10:12 AM Amain called me last night they are sending me a new protek 5000 40c lipo free of charge . Mine was defective .
tobamiester 06-30-2010, 10:24 AM Bob, I just got off the phone with Carl. He mentioned that the tractor needed some Oil or something. Do you know the specifics of what it needs ? He said he'd try and pick it up for tomorrow.

I am pretty sure the trans fluid needs to be filled, the lack of fluid is causing it to slip. I am pretty sure Bob was looking into what fluid and how to put it in.

The transmission manufacturer has changed the spec to 5w/50 synthetic. It was built with 10w/30 API grade cc or cd. I would just use 10/30 since we didn't overhaul it. It does leak pretty well. there is always a puddle in the container.

Ok, so I should have Carl get some "10w/30 API grade" ? whats the cc or cd part ? (sorry a little clueless on this stuff)..

Looks like the "cc" and "cd" ratings are obsolete: http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html
Also looks like it doesn't matter: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006040909162

Just some 10w/30 detergent oil will be fine. cc/cd were old grade designations for use in diesel and turbo diesel engines.
