I'm positive that the Losi parts I gave Brian Sr for Jr's LM had a new pin and barrel still in the bag - check with them, don't know if they were bringing that stuff.

Great day of racing, MudRunners Style! That truggy qualifier in the rain was mental :p

Thanks to Bob's missus for the Cake.

Nice driving Steve in SC 4wd & 2wd. Sorry for tagging you in 4wd, but you prevailed over my cruddy driving.

Race 4 is in the books. 195 entries signed up today. After the short rain delay the temp dropped and the track got hotter. The track was blazing fast in all classes. J.T. turned a 9.1 second lap with his nitro late model on the oval. The offroad track was just as fast too. No racing at DR now for 3 weeks due to 4th of july. We will be back on the 11th of july.

Yeah. I'm trying the find the video clip of that qualifier, before the camera shutdown...

I should have took a photo of my LM after that qualifier. Was it worth it... Maybe. But I won't do that again. But I'm just happy to have kept the car running and complete my first complete Main feature and duke it out with Charlie, and JT who was unstoppable!

I don't know Toby, you looked pretty miserable up there with your rain soaked T-shirt. Not at all like you wer having fun.

A while later while Brian's truggy was drying out, the speed control decided to self destruct. Yes, afterward, while "drying out." Maybe some water finally seeped into someplace it should not have been. He is just hoping the short didn't damage the batteries too.

Debatable whether it was better that he left the batteries connected and it happened while "drying out" or disconnected them right away and had it smoke when he plugged the batteries in to run it again.

I would not have run my LM in the rain like that no matter what or even in the conditions just after the rain stopped. Even if everyone one was going to.

Hey you forget. I had 27 years of rain living in England. That won't stop me racing :)

Should I have run? I put it down to my immaturity. Turning 40 in October. I might grow up then...prolly not

Man, I ran once in the muck last year and this candy a$$ will never do it again. It just takes such a toll on the equipment. But like you said, you had fun and that's what it's all about.

You will be cleaning for a week though:o:cool:

Toby - The nitro cars are easier to clean, even when you run in the mud. Take out the whole radio tray as one unit(leave the servo arms attached to the various linkages), take off the engine and pipe as one unit, pop out the fuel tank and take off the tires. Spray whats left with Simple Green, blow off with compressed air, spray with WD40 and blow off again with compressed air. Clean the radio tray and engine with a toothbrush and Simple Green on the brush. Wash the wheels/tires in the sink or outside with the garden hose. Start to finish shouldn't take more than hour with a little practice. The nitro buggies are engineered to be cleaned like that quickly--- and frequently. The electric cars are a whole different story...

Thanks Gary. Great tips. I did a variation of that at the track as the LM was unusable after the qualifier. Got her cleaned up and running for the main.

Well my mysterious smoking servo has been sent back to HiTec. I am hoping it falls under their 2 Year warranty. If not I guess I have to pay for service. All I want is to not have to drop another $100+ for a servo I only got to run 3 times.

Poor Derek is sending back 2 Havoc Pro's and a Tekin during our 3 weeks off, the kid can't catch a break with his electronic issues. On top of that he bought a MMPro to replace one of the Havoc's and that was overheating the HV motor and causing his 4x4 SC to intermittently stop as well.

Double :(:(

heck yea bob! I was forced to run my open monster heat in the rain. I was raining hard minutes before we even started so I dont know why the race could not have been held for a while and not started at that time. I BURNED UP a monster max 1/8 scale speedo, but I TQ'd that heat. BTW did u see my personal umbrella holder, my good buddy mark?? LOL he was having fun doing me a favor and also watching the faces on the other guys who got soaked. Sorry to hear about your stuff. Toby had one hyperion go when it got wet out but mine are in a well protected area for this very reasonWell I lost (up in smoke) a Hyperion charger and melted the 4mm connection out of a 3800 Protek lipo in the sprint car.

My charger wasn't a water related thing. It was around 8:00am. I went to charge a second receiver pack, when I pushed start, it beeped said "open circuit" and it was all over but the smoking:freak:

Check the timing settings on the MMPro. What I've heard is the Novak HV motors should be run with zero added timing. Even the default setting of "Low" may be too much for them.
