Well, I have some questions...

How many people would you like to draw???

Do you have a place with room for expected number of people?

Will this be a day, night, or day-night event?

If you're looking to just have a few friends over, maybe they can tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and so on.... let's say, 10 to 20 people at your place, you might have a big cookout and have a few friends sponsor the beer. Oh, and bring your slot cars!! Seems like food is always a bigger draw than racing. You may send out some invites with a schedule of events and maybe some prizes. It's wide open man.

Neil, we race once a moth down in the Seattle area, you really should come down one of these days. We run the G3 platform, but sometimes some of us will get together and run anything we might have in the box as well, always a great time!

And by the way, not that it makes a difference, we're all running Brystal routed tracks down here. :)

Well the other night seven of us got together for racing -- I got 4 Tombstones (4/$10), four varieties of M&Ms, 2 jumbo bags of Lays chips (2/$4), a couple 12 packs of pop and a little tray of mini-cupcakes for $4. Total outlay was around $35 but I still have a pizza, some M&Ms and a bag of chips left to munch on in the next week er two.

When we race we don't charge a cover or entry fee -- it's up to the host much they want to spend and what kind of spread to put out. I like variety so I do a little more, some guys do a little less, but it all works and we've been racing since 1994.

thanks for the feedback,i would like to get my guys together and maybe venture down your way,if we can.seems like washington would be pretty affordable.and i have a good little tent and a faithful dog to keep me warm!
anyway,i will be seeing my guys this weekend, hopefully.my friend dan is finishing his new shop, with plans for a fourlane ho layout suspended by pulleys to the ceiling!he will be enlarging ouir present 8x4 layout,so i will see if he's cool letting me post pics on the build thread.i want more info on the two 1/32 tracks here aswell,as i have been told of an eight lane routed track up island.there's only one official club here that i know of,and that's club suzuka, but i have yet to race there,as i have a wee bit of stage fright entering a real race,as we are beer league and into it more for fun.there are some pretty competetive guys up here though,so maybe an invitational thing would be possible.i dunno, team canada vs team usa or some such silliness!the trophy could be an afx hockey puck,LOL!:p:rolleyes:
