We were talking to Chris last night about maybe puting down some ice in the corners and trying some Sunday afternoon race to see how the crowed might be.

So lets see who would want to run what day Monday nights starting aroun 7:00-7:30 or Sunday afternoon around 3ish?

The 1/12 scale oval is going good but would like to see more people. We see on monday night about 8 to 10 guys, 15 guys would be nice. The 1/10 scale oval is starting slow but people are getting the word out to try to get more people to come out.

You can run your slider at Dirtrunners. They have a growing indoor class as well as outdoors in the summer.. I'm sure Chris would run them at Xtreme if enough folks turned up.

Regarding 1/10th. Chris is getting 1/10 Oval cars running at Xtreme (they also run a large class at Dirtrunners). We also run 1/10 World GT 10th Scale Pan cars there on Fridays. We have 6-7 cars and counting, in that class.

As far as 12th scale Oval, verses Road Cars. I'm no expert but the 12th scale Oval cars appear more nimble and than their 10th scale counterparts. KSG, Hyperdrive and CRC all make popular and very capable 12th scale oval cars.
12th Scale road course again is popular at Xtreme on Fridays. The Associated 12R5 and GenXL are popular cars in that class.

hey Jay, Sorry hard to know who is who on this forum. Great to hear from you.

I am very new to Oval. Whilst I made the observation it seemed boring as hell to watch, A friend tempted me saying its exciting to drive. So I figure I'd give it a go.

Already had a 17.5 system (from Dirt Oval racing) and some 4cell packs. So I picked up an old dirt cheap RC10L3O & a bunch of BSR tires on ebay and ran it for the first time on Nov 14th. I really enjoyed it!.
I'm going to run it on Saturday again and see how I do, but this time 13.5/1s. Also switching tire compounds and replaced all the bearings, and raised the ride height a little.

If I stick with it I'm not sure what I'll get. As I am an Associated guy, and run a 10R5 WGT car, I was thinking of getting a RC10R5Oval. But will see...

Feebay might be your best bet for older parts. On mine, one of the screws that holds the top CF plate above the motor is broken off. I found a replacement motor mount on feebay but it was over $20. The car cost me just $60  so I'm gonna live with it on this car (2 other screws should hold it all together....).

In terms of tires. on my first Oval run on Nov 14th at Dirtrunners, I ran BSR Pinks on the rear, Purple on the front left (inside) and Gray/Silver on the right (outside).
The Purple really wore down so right now I have Gray/Silver on both fronts. I might change them before Saturday if I get more time to investigate....

I hear you with the newborn. thats alot of work...(had a couple myself once...still catching up on sleep).

I hope to race this Friday at Xtreme and next Friday if I can get approval from said authorities

No 17.5 2-cell is too fast 21.5 2-cell is the same speed as 10.5 1-cell. 17.5 1-cell would be better.
