View Full Version : What Class are you running at the Snowbirds?
WLMaye 11-11-2009, 10:00 PM In an effort to see if there would be support for the 17.5 Truck class I've been asked by some guys to start a poll. 17.5 Sportsman Truck is now an expo class at the Snowbirds so let's get that sign up going!!!!
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks,

I voted for the wrong truck class ment 17.5. That's what happens when you get old you can't see anymore.

That's cool... it is noted, so that's zero for 21.5 nastruck and 8 for 17.5 sportsman truck.
Bill
mmccoy20 11-12-2009, 07:31 AM Here in Fla we still have a large class of 21.5 Nastruck, so I voted 1 for Nastruck.
HitmanIII 11-12-2009, 07:22 PM Let them boys race ! ! !

Mike told me what fun you guys have so I got all the 21.5 stuff from last year out and am looking foward to the race...............I seem to be the last hold out for 21.5 here in East Tennessee........How many do you think we will have?
WLMaye 11-14-2009, 10:38 AM Keep it rolling. Choose your weapon!

Bill
Larry B 11-16-2009, 07:24 PM Have you heard from Mike on this?????
MikeNum8 11-16-2009, 07:33 PM interesting how the second biggest class voted on isn't even listed for snowbirds. Does that mean all those will change to the 21.5 2 cell truck class.
slotracer577 11-16-2009, 09:10 PM No, will run 10.5 1 cell if there is no 17.5. Need a 2nd class and that is simply a body and motor swap. Would prefer the slower classes, but no going all that way to only run one class.
John
WLMaye 11-17-2009, 12:21 AM Sorry, no 2 cell here... hoping we might can get a 17.5 exhibition class. Who knows, maybe the racing gods will have favor on us.
If not look out 10.5 class, it's going to be a riot. :freak:
Bill
J-Dub Racing 11-17-2009, 10:33 AM Lets hope...Bill in 10.5 = SCARY!!!!
WLMaye 11-19-2009, 04:18 PM C'mon dude, you know I'll be alright if were not racing together. LOL!!!! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...
Keep'em coming guys the list is growing.
Bill
Larry B 11-21-2009, 11:42 PM Bill, you have a PM
WLMaye 11-25-2009, 09:00 AM Got another 17.5 1s... you guys keep em coming. The trucks at our track are some of the best racing there is.
Bill
98Ron 11-25-2009, 02:58 PM Bill, the % of each class is interesting, it adds up to well over 100%.
Total of the votes is incorrect also, should be about 110.
Looks like the math may be based on the number of voters vs. the number of votes(multiple classes selected not be put into the total votes thus skewing the % per class.
I know you don't control the math, interesting just the same.
But the poll looks favorable, anyone contact Mike yet?

Dude you're right... must be the multiple choice option. Haven't personally talked to Mike Boylan but who knows, maybe we'll get an exhibition class. I really enjoy the 17.5 class, at our track we have a good show of racers every week and growing and the racing is real close. Most of the racers are on the same lap and swapping the lead a lot.
I'll be there no matter and hopefully the 17.5 class will get the showcase that it deserves, which may just help build it at more tracks and get more guys into oval.
Bill
WLMaye 11-28-2009, 12:13 AM 21 17.5 trucks, I think we got a little interest here... Mike, what ya think????
Bill
WLMaye 11-28-2009, 06:38 PM ...22 now, we might even get a C or D main out of the sportsman class if it's offered.
Bill

Now when we get a Z main I know where I'll finish in that main.
LAST!!!!!!!!!!!
WLMaye 11-30-2009, 09:24 AM And the count continues to rise for 17.5 TRUCK.
Bill
WLMaye 11-30-2009, 07:28 PM Just so you boys know
17.5 1S TRUCKS ARE A GO AT THE BIRDS:woohoo:
Now let's see how many we can get!
Bill
J-Dub Racing 12-01-2009, 11:10 AM Good job Bill. I think it is great that this class was added.
RuntRacing25 12-01-2009, 11:25 AM what the rules?
slotracer577 12-01-2009, 11:41 AM Tour rules are http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=262829
short of it, 17.5 1 cell, truck body, world GT tires, 25C smc battery.
John
WLMaye 12-01-2009, 01:55 PM TOUR Rules work great... differences from other truck classes would be the 25c pack, world GT tires with the blue ring, back of body must be left in and no more than a 2" spoiler. This class demands a really good setup and consistent lines due to the fact that there is no rip to make up for bad driving. Lap times for the birds would probably be somewhere around 4.5-4.7 up front to 4.9-5.0 ending. Guys who haven't been racing in a while or guys who can't afford the tire bills for the other classes will live the trucks. Tires just DON'T wear. Don't be afraid to sign up for the class just because you've been racing for a while. If you aren't a fully sponsored racer, never really have been able to compete at the faster speeds of 13.5 or 10.5 racing, just returning and don't have all of the latest greatest stuff, or just getting started in oval... this is the class to be in.
Bill
lidebt2 12-01-2009, 02:06 PM TOUR Rules work great...world GT tires with the blue ring, Bill
Bill is it purple or blue? Tour says purple.
J-Dub Racing 12-01-2009, 03:29 PM It is a purple ring...Bill is just a little crazy at times...
Whats up Bill you Oval Master you...LOL. See you soon buddy.
WLMaye 12-01-2009, 06:21 PM OK so the color is Purple... I tried to stay blue since I'm running the R5 but I guess you guys are going to force me to add purple to the car  It's kind of blueish purply in color.
Boylan is going to announce the complete rule package soon.
Bill
RuntRacing25 12-01-2009, 11:20 PM i think its blurple!
