I snagged the Galaxie, but I almost wish I collected mopars. I think that Challenger is my favorite from the whole release! Thanks Russ

The Chevy is definitely my favorite of the bunch. That Buick is very hard on the eyes.

That Challenger is awesome! I may just have to veer off my Mustang-only collection for a minute to grab that one.

is it the quality or just the way they look in the package you dont like. I hope the quality on these isnt starting to go down.

That Buick should be called upchuck in flames. The truck looks good but I'll have to do a wheel swap if I find one.

Okay, the camaro looks good but the others not so much, i din't know if it is the paint colors or what

There is no camaro in series 2. I got my set today and i love them. I think they all go together nicely.....except the buick i dont like it. Ive never liked that car and the flame job on this one makes it even worse.

I got the Galaxie the other day. I love it and the white walls, even if they aren't accurate.

Hi Galaxieman,

But have you seen a '66 in bright red with yellow flames and blue pinstripes? Or with argent flat torque thrust wheels? :)

These are supposed to be custom so they can have whatever features desired. Sorry if the wide whites are not your thing but this was intentional. We worked closely with flame historian and model flame painter Tim Phelps on this set. Hopefully everyone can appreciate his storytelling of the styles of flames - but to each their own.

Have a good one,

Matt

Does anyone know if the BWF Pickup has an engine?
The hood on mine is very secure and I don't want to wreck the paintjob prying it open if it's not supposed to open.

If it doesn't open easy then my guess is no. I got the one with the camper and the hood doesn't open on it. I pried it off with a screwdriver. Pretty disappointed with that one...

just wondering why you want the hood up? It would be nice if it opened but its not a deal breaker. I dont display them with the hood up do you?

I too saw the Set @ TRU and I agree the Cars don't look that great up close.

I will only be picking up the 71 Chevy Truck for Kustomizing when I find more.

The rest will stay @ TRU.

I only buy diecast that at a minimum has opening hoods and detailed engines. It's a deal breaker for me. I do display them with the hood open sometimes, they are useful in dioramas, and I do a lot of customs that involved detailing the engine bay with accurate paint, wires, and hoses. GL's are around $5 on average, we should at least get opening hoods.

I think they will eventually open the hoods up on the trucks once they get done putting bed covers, tool boxes, camper tops etc on them. Thats the reason they said the hoods dont open, so they could put all the acc. on the beds.

I saw some of this series in TRU today and the Buick is even uglier than it is in the photo.

My sympathies to the Buick faithful, as that Buick is FUGLY!! That is BY FAR the WORST thing GL has EVER done!!

Nope, I didn't mess up the hood too much when I did it so I just stuck it back on.

OK point well taken. The guy is an artist so whatever he wants is fine. I just doubt anyone building that as a 1:1 would put those tires on those wheels. True to 66 1.25-1.5 inch whitewalls or even blackwalls or white letter tires would look much better. But then style and art is purely subjective.

That Buick however is a nightmare even Picasso would wake up screaming from.

Didn't mess up the hood too much? REALLY ? How did you pull that off?

The pic shows ,what looks to be, welded cross pieces in place to add the necessary depth to the casting to allow for the grooves around the hood.

Luck  it's not perfect, but it doesn't look bad at all. Just got lucky and managed to pop the rivets I guess.
