Here is a pic I took with my IPhone from this past sunday morning when I got there. Alot changed just that day. I'll have more pics in the next couple days with the track complete.

For size, it is 40' from the brick wall to the first post, 40' between the posts, and another 30' to the track wall where I took the pic from.

VERY cool how wide are the lanes?
Only because our backs are still broken from doing this very thing.....I will speculate 10 foot lanes, 6,000 SQ. Foot of track and about 12,000 SQ. Feet of dirt. Lets see how close I am! Good luck with it guys, looks nice.

I don't mean to be critical, but it seems to me like a little more hype and 3 or 4 weeks of a notice and some big to do for a GRAND OPENING would have been more beneficial to a new facility. I know that if I had more notice I would have made the 4 hr trip for a big grand opening race. Like I said I don't mean to be critical, I'll still be down to check it out the winter. Just that RC racers seem to like a little more hype and to know there will be a good turn-out when they travel to race with you. Just my two cents worth, look forward to racing with you at the new track.

I wouldn't let lackof hyper stop u Ron, I know these guys personelly and they wanted to have a top line facility real quick and they have it......I know u would have a great time there....they have three exhaust fans for the nitro races to hopefully eliminate nitro smoke, if it don't they will add more...their goal is to have a smoke free building on nitro days... indoor nitro entrys in Michigan have been way down due to the fumes(i think u know what i mean)Mike's goal is to be smoke free....hope to see ur group there in the near future....I'm going to make it tomorrow an hopefully Sat. Deer hunting is over for me so know I can concentrate more on some rc'in....lookin forward to runnin u an Ken again...love Tom PS check out rcracingextreme for more on this track...

Didn't mean that I would race there or that the guys don't have the best intentions or that they arent building a great facility. I only meant that I hope they have a good turnout for there opening, I won't be able to make it because there is not enough notice, they did'nt keep racers ontop of when they opener was and give those traveling a ways time to plan the trip.Look forward to running with you again real soon Tom and I will be down there to race soon.

i will get some pics tomorrow night when I'm there if someone can post them for me....i agree it would have been better if they could have posted the opening sooner, I'm not making excuses for that but this has happened very quickly....the lease wasn't even sighed 3 weeks ago...u know goverment, permits inspections etc..i know Mike were there until 5am working on the drivers stand and Ed until 2am working on the track....guess were should all be thankful we have another track option specially in this economy.....a lot of money is invested in a project of this nature.....looking forward to seeing u guys soon, where ever it may be...ur a fun group of guys to be around...

Cmon guys give them a break. They have busted their ##ses for us so we can race. We have all winter to race and so lighten up on the notice for the grand opening. This place was started just 3 weeks ago.

tipperjackson
11-17-2009, 11:39 PM
That's my point though, I only want this place as well as all RC race tracks to do well, unless I'm missing something, you have a beautiful track opening indoor nitro and electric state of the art big and only 3 photo's posted just over 1000 views in 3 or 4 weeks and 45 wait 46 posts. How many racers do you think will be there this Saturday with a 5 day notice of the GRAND OPENING. I hope you have 200 plus racers but just a little optimistic(sorry)!

do we have to rent the chairs? and pay to piss? i well not be racing there.:drunk::(

Rob Mirsky
11-18-2009, 08:51 AM
For those coming tonight or this weekend, you will want to bring a chair, and possibly a pit table. They have a bunch of tables built for about 40 entries right now, but to be on the safe side....
The chair order has not arrived yet.

I understand the short notice, they didn't want to get everyone all excited and then something gets it shut down (permit or ?), and they didn't want a bunch of people stopping by to check it out while it was being built as well. Trust me though, its worth the drive time. Myself, I am not ready to race as well, but thats not going to stop me from racing there when I am ready.

Mid Michigan has needed something like this for a long time.

Also, for summer time they have a large plot of land outside worked into the lease to use for the outdoor track, so this will be a year around facility!!!

And for those wanting more pics, they have a bunch on the AMS Hobbies facebook page. Here's a link:
