View Full Version : Other 1/4 scale cars?
Just thought I would throw a few shots up of a Front engine dragster that I just bought. I did not know if you guys were really into other types of cars, but these are the kinda things that really get me excited about this scale and the reason why I started quarterscalelegends.com
ScottH 10-27-2009, 08:18 PM That would be neat to see run.
kenny666 10-28-2009, 11:20 AM I see someone has alot of talent,that is a sharp car.thanks for the pics,I will check the site out.kenny #21
QSPSB 10-28-2009, 05:24 PM What a small world this is... I didn't know you we're a member here as well mike..
The rail is simply.. AWESOME!!
Floyd, I hit up all the 1/4 scale sites. :) this is a good one.
The builder of this car has amazing talent and a real passion for his hobbies.
QSPSB 10-29-2009, 05:13 PM He most certainly does.. Well mike rest assured it went to a nice home that's for sure
I only wish you would make some videos of all your cars in action one day!!!
Still waiting

bobjeffreson 10-29-2009, 06:20 PM This was the perfect thread to show one of my recent acquisitions from America. An "as new" 1980 Jeff Schimdt Pacesetter sprint car.
In the process of tiding it up. Not really much to do, as you can see, and getting it mobile again after not being started since 1990.

Tim Mc 10-29-2009, 08:57 PM How about an off body pic Bob?
bobjeffreson 10-29-2009, 09:26 PM This is the only one I have loaded on my computer at present. Still gives you an idea.
Car runs a .60 Super Tigre nitro motor to a Jeff Schimdt designed and built quick change diiff.
Thanks for the interest.

Clemenade 10-29-2009, 09:36 PM sweet ride are those foam tires?
bobjeffreson 10-29-2009, 10:06 PM Yes, they are foam tyres..btw...that's our spelling, not having a go!
Been on the car since new..so they're 29 years old and haven't perished, for which I'm thankful.
marinevet 10-29-2009, 10:55 PM This is a Northeast featherlite modified we raced up at thunder valley in Bassett, Va a few years ago....I finished this body last night 10/09 and hope to get some interest going up at Terry rae's track again next year...this body is a little more elaborate than what we use to run but can be make about 2 bodies out of a half sheet of .060 lexan...it isn't shown with the side bumpers or front & rear bumpers...we ran these from about 2001 to about 2002 or 3 not sure....very durable and easy to make
IN2RACIN 10-30-2009, 12:32 PM All nice looking rides!
Man... I hope I can score one of those pacesetter sprints one day...
Bob, I will be selling replacement bodies (not that you need one) and also limited edition prints signed and numbered (not that you need one of those either :))
But let your friends know over there :)
bobjeffreson 10-30-2009, 05:33 PM Mike ,
Put me down for one of those bodies right now!
Tim Mc 10-30-2009, 06:20 PM Bob, thanks for the pic. That's a cool little ride. Not much on the suspension end though....LOL.
bobjeffreson 10-30-2009, 06:31 PM Tim,
Mate, there's no suspension to speak of  Solid rear end and the front has tubes that have springs inside with minimal movement. No way to tweak the handling on this baby...lol. This car was built to run on a dead flat hard surface. Not the dirt tracks that I'm used to.
Tim Mc 10-30-2009, 06:32 PM Either way, it is a neat piece of history!Tim,

here are a couple shots of a phoenix arrow super i purchased a few months back. These things were MEAN on the track!:freak:
bobjeffreson 10-30-2009, 09:08 PM Either way, it is a neat piece of history!
Tim,
I'm intending on getting the car going, however I'm still in 2 minds if I'll actually drive it on our track...maybe 1 slow lap! Don't know. Be great to have some video of it running around a track.
It hasn't got a mark on the under side, so it really hasn't seen any action at all. I don't want to be the first to scratch it....
Tim Mc 10-30-2009, 11:45 PM It does look a little on the fragile side....lol. Keep us posted on your progress.

That is really sweet!!
bobjeffreson 11-02-2009, 05:09 PM Good work Sonny,
Darren Preece a young guy in Sydney, decided to get into 1/4 scale sprintcar racing after coming to our track and seeing the action.
He went home with the expressed intendion to start building the car.
3000 miles across the country in Perth, one of Australia's best midget drivers, Mike Figliomeni died of a heart attack in the pits at race meeting. Luck had it that he wasn't racing his car at the time.
Back in Sydney Darren changes his mind and decides to build a scale midget as a tribute to Mike. This is his first attempt at anything like this...a 1/3 scale Rc midget...not a bad result hey?
This car has been shown and widely publicised amongst the Australian speedway fraternity. Just last week the family of Mike, flew the car to Perth to have it on display at the annual Figliomeni Memorial midget race.
brokecrewchief 11-10-2009, 04:30 AM now that thing looks like a real car...they all should look like that but the rules dont allow it. nice piece
Tim Mc 12-06-2009, 11:52 AM I bet these where a blast.:thumbsup:This is a Northeast featherlite modified we raced up at thunder valley in Bassett, Va a few years ago....I finished this body last night 10/09 and hope to get some interest going up at Terry rae's track again next year...this body is a little more elaborate than what we use to run but can be make about 2 bodies out of a half sheet of .060 lexan...it isn't shown with the side bumpers or front & rear bumpers...we ran these from about 2001 to about 2002 or 3 not sure....very durable and easy to make
Rembrandt 12-06-2009, 01:00 PM Similar to the ones I make for on the sprint car frames
okracer 12-06-2009, 08:31 PM looks awesome
johnnyhacksaw 12-27-2009, 12:14 AM here's i picture of a mod 1/4 scale figure 8 car. the guy built it out of spare parts and old body that was torn up. or, parts he don't use anymore. there is a few of use thinking about doing this with left over parts lying around.

ScottH 12-27-2009, 12:27 AM Holy Side-Dams Batman!!!
With them on both sides it seems it would be tough to get it to turn.
Tim Mc 12-27-2009, 12:32 AM I like the open wheel part, but the bill boards need to go!
johnnyhacksaw 12-27-2009, 12:33 AM Holy Side-Dams Batman!!!

this car is fast! even on the big oval. figure 8 cars have large air dams to catch all the air they can on short bursts of speed, have to turn left and right. the guy built this one, is a die hard figure 8 fan!
ScottH 12-27-2009, 12:37 AM DUH!!!! Figure 8, read right through that.
That seems like it can get REALLY NASTY with 30lb cars.
Tim Mc 12-27-2009, 12:37 AM Where are they running the cars and is there any video?
johnnyhacksaw 12-27-2009, 12:45 AM the thinking is,just playing around with parts that aren't used. you could do a figure 8 race, as, long as, speeds are not too fast for cross over, use your brake...or, lay down the power(speed in short distance) too make it through, thus less carnage...!..lol!
johnnyhacksaw 12-27-2009, 12:51 AM Where are they running the cars and is there any video?
that's a thought! run a figure 8 race sell the video to raise money for QSAC.... on left over parts, old unused torn up oval bodys, old tires and out dated chassis. there has been some thought up here in indy.
Tim Mc 12-27-2009, 02:52 AM I tell ya what, the ole ride looks mean as hell!!
