View Full Version : Large Collection of Models Unearthed!
emsinker 10-27-2009, 11:25 AM I am pleased to announce that I have been retained by a Church to broker a very large collection of models, toys, T-shirts, figurines and statues etc. The Church has expressed to me its desire to "Bless first the hobbyists with this collection before going to Ebay." Hence, I will do my utmost to make these kits affordable. Please appreciate, however, that the Church's expressed desire to "bless the hobbyists" coupled with my obligation to raise as much money from this collection as I can creates, for me, a conflict. I will, therefore, as best as I am able, quote you fair market value. If you are, however, a collector/hobbyist of financial means, please consider where your money will be going and do not ask me to do better on pricing. All other hobbyists/collectors, as I said, I will do my best to accommodate you.
Since (a) the intent is to ultimately post on Ebay (where a pricelist is not necessary), (b) this is an extremely large collection and (c) I am a one-man operation who has a full-time day job , I have not compiled a pricelist. I apologize, as I know this is inconvenient. However, if there are any kits you are interested in, please contact me at emsinker@yahoo.com and I will do my best to make amends for any inconvenience.
That portion of the collection which has been unboxed and available for sale can be viewed by clicking here: http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/. These photos depict most of the model portion of this collection. I will supplement the photos at the Photobucket site as more items are unboxed.
This right of first refusal shall be extended to hobbyists until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 2nd; at which time, I will begin posting items for sale on Ebay.
Thanks for your interest and support.

Mitchellmania 10-27-2009, 01:17 PM WOW!!!:freak: I don't think I can afford the "Mint in the Box" prices. I want to build them.
emsinker 10-27-2009, 04:32 PM Haven't quoted any "mint in the box prices!" Won't know unless you ask. Ed

Auroranut 10-27-2009, 06:01 PM I've bought a fair few kits from Ed and I'm more than happy to recommend him! The prices are very good- especially when you consider the rarity and desirability of most of these kits.
Good luck with your sale Ed.

emsinker 10-28-2009, 02:41 PM I want to thank everyone for the tremendous support received from this posting. I have been inundated with orders and e-mails. To all hobbyists who have contacted me for price quotes and have yet to hear from me, please be patient as I will return every one of your e-mails with a quote in the order in which it was received. Each night after work, I have given priority to filling and shipping orders, so I am a little behind on responding to e-mails.
I realize that the manner in which I have posted these items, without prices, is a pain to everyone; me included. I will do my best, once things slow down, to set prices on each item. I may very well extend this offering further, given the great response, before going to Ebay. Thanks again! Ed

emsinker 11-02-2009, 12:38 PM There appears to be some confusion over accessing the Photobucket site, where all of the Church’s models are pictured. I am finding that many hobbyists are clicking only on the “Warehouse” link and, therefore, seeing only distant photos of the kits. The warehouse link was provided at the request of certain hobbyists wanting to see the sheer volume of what I am dealing with; but was not intended to depict items for sale.
So, let me just give a quick run through on how to use the site:
When you click on this link:
http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/
This is what you will see:
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/Photobucket%20Instructions/th_PhotobucketOpeningPage.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/Photobucket%20Instructions/?action=view¤t=PhotobucketOpeningPage.jpg)
Clicking on any of the menu options will bring you to the pictures of the items or, in the case of the Models link, will bring you to a series of sub-folders entitled Aircraft, Figure Models, Military, Motor Vehicles, Spacecraft, and Watercraft:
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/Photobucket%20Instructions/th_ClickingonModelsFolder.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/Photobucket%20Instructions/?action=view¤t=ClickingonModelsFolder.jpg)
Clicking on any one of these subfolders will bring you to the pictured items.
Here is an example of what you will see by clicking on the Miscellaneous link:
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/Photobucket%20Instructions/th_PhotobucketMiscellaneousPageExample.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/Photobucket%20Instructions/?action=view¤t=PhotobucketMiscellaneousPageExample.jpg)
Hopes this helps. For those of you who are waiting for me to post prices, please know that (a) a significant number of kits have already been sold to hobbyists willing to inquire as to prices and (b) I expect to fill a large wholesale order within the next two weeks, which, if effectuated, will serve to diminish the availability of kits to about 15-20% of what I have originally posted. SO, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, DON’T WAIT!
Model Man 11-03-2009, 02:09 AM Thanks for offering these here first!
pm sent. Hoping, hoping, hoping!
I just purchased a King Kong model from Ed, and I can attest to the fact that he's an honest, above-board guy who sent the model to me promptly and in well-packed condition. Thanks very much, Ed!

emsinker 11-05-2009, 09:02 AM Sean:
Thank you so much for the very kind words. I'm trying my best for the hobbyists and the church. Can't say that I haven't been overwhelmed by it all, but the hobbyists (with one exception) have been simply outstanding. For me, it is more than the kits that make this hobby what it is---we are blessed with simply fantastic fellow hobbyists who go out of their way to help others.
I am pleased, indeed, to be able to give back to so many who have given so much to me over the years.
Thanks, again, my friend, for taking time to post such kinds words.
Ed

emsinker 11-28-2009, 12:12 AM Fellow Modelers: In the few weeks I have listed this collection, I have sold over 200 kits for the church, even given away a few kits and have hopefully made a lot of hobbyists happy; about 84 of them to be exact! However, there were two members who bought nothing and just sent me whiny letters---cost too much, what kind of "sale" is this etc etc. One hobbyist even mistakenly sent me a picture of an Addar General Aldo Ebay sale listing in support of his complaint that our Addar MISB Caesar is worth only $40!
THIS SALE IS INTENDED TO MAKE EVEN THE WHINERS HAPPY! ALL REMAINING KITS HAVE NOW BEEN PRICED AND PRICES SHOULD MAKE EVEN THE FRUGALEST (??) COLLECTOR WILLING TO BUY.
Photobucket folders are now arranged according to price. If you want to see all of the priced kits, regardless of price range, click on this link:
http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg197/emsinker/FOR%20SALE/PRICED%20KITS/
which will open a center blank page, to the left of which are the various priced links to the kits.
If you want to shop by price only, knock yourself out:

OK, NOW HERE'S THE "CATCH!" SINCE I DO NOT WANT TO BE SHIPPING OUT SMALL $20 ORDERS, A MINIMUM PURCHASE OF $50 IS REQUIRED.
I expect these kits will go fast at these prices, so first come, first served. Please list alternate kit choices in order to reach the minimum $50 order requirement in the event some or all of your first choices are no longer available. Where no alternate choices are provided and the threhold $50 limit is not reached, no order will be filled. Please send no money until I bill you with a total including postage. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED THROUGH MY E-MAIL ADDRESS: emsinker@yahoo.com (that way all orders will be time-stamped and will be filled in priority of time received). Unless special arrangements are made, all orders must be paid within three days of my billing you; otherwise, I will sell the kit to the next hobbyist in line. When ordering, please list price first and then item number. For example, "15-16" tells me you are ordering a $15 kit, Item # 16 (the MPC Batman).
Thanks for all of your support; hope this offer demonstrates the Church's appreciation to EVERYONE! :)
Ed Sinker
PM with list sent! Thanks in advance.
