How do you tell the deference between a 21.5 and 17.5 with out the Bands on them?
Thanks

Should be written in marker on the stator underneath where the ring goes if it is a novak motor.

What are the inductor readings from the 17.5 and 21.5?

The numbers on the stator stickers inside Novak motors are resistance readings.

How do you have motors without the color bands?

I believe he means the purple novak sleeve that goes over the stator. I have several with that sleeve removed.

Many of the older motors don't have the color band. I'm looking at two 21.5's with green bands and one without. None of my 13.5's or my 17.5 have a colored band. However, the serial number on the end may be another way to tell:

My 21.5's start with either "S3P" (green bands) or "S2P" (black band)
My 17.5 starts with "S1L" (black band)
My 13.5's start with "SM" (black band)

Maybe someone at Novak can confirm this?

Of course, there is another way. Raise the wheels off the ground and rev it up. Your ears should be able to tell the difference.
