We had 19 racers show up to race at the Sabatona Super Speedway , some drivers made the trip from as far away as Iowa (Rosy,M.Baker) and Wisconsin (M.Block). All the other drivers were from clubs in Central IL and Southern Il. The day started with two hours of open track for all the racers to try to tame the fastest track on the planet! Mike Block took full advantage of the practice time as he ran lap after lap honing his skills for the races that were to come later in the day. After a quick drivers meeting to discuss the track rules and the race format ( team, iroc ,enduro ) the race was started. For todays racing we are using Ford F-150 Nastruck bodys.

First up on the day of racing was the qualifier race. This race was ran to set the field of teams in the team racing. (3 minute heats)

race #2 the team race. This race was 15 minute heats with each driver running 5 minutes of each heat. All of the teams were comprised of three racers that were determined from the 3 minute qualifier race.

After 700 laps we had a tie on the track for 1st place with team Jeff edging out lens team by 6 feet!

Thank you to everyone who made a long trip to the race. With out you guys here this race never would have happened. I hope everyone made it home safe and we get to race again! Also thank you to miss Sabata for the good cooking and hospitality! I look forward to seeing everyone again next year at the annual G-JET IROC race.
