I'm pleased to announce Round 2 of the John's BSR Tires Brushless Racing League Oval Tour for 2009-2010; the Hyperdrive 300 at Victory R/C Hobbies & Raceway.

Buddy has indicated a willingness to run dirt oval races on Friday night if there is interest from BRL racers. This was a lot of fun the last time the BRL was at Victory. So when posting for the roll call in this thread please let us know if you're interested in getting dirty! Check out his track classes for dirt oval and keep in mind he'll make a class for any 3 similar cars.

I'll be posting the schedule and some rules updates (nothing major) in the next couple of days.

need to know what class/classes of Sprint Cars are coming so I can adapt.

foam tires/rubber tires/ 13.5 or open mod? might be too much for that track.

Mine's got a 7.5 in it, but it's not like either of us can drive it well enough that the extra turn makes a difference :)

Rules package! Once we set rules you'll all look to break them anyway. LOL

What we're used to in these parts (that'd be KC) for dirt sprint car is rubber tire, open motor. Run whatever you can handle on the track. Dirt and rubber tires seem to be good equalizers of power.

Buddy's website has rules for a spec 1/10 slider class but I couldn't find any for "open" sprint car. He'll run whatever we decide we'd like.

So what's the consensus; open motor or place a limit on turns? I favor rubber tires. 2 cell battery is pretty obvious.

I don't think anyone has run mod sprint there since the middle of last indoor season. Mostly Sliders, trucks and Slash classes now. The last we did run it was open tire, open motor. An 8.5 was plenty for that track. I actually ran the same speed with a 10.5 as I did with an 8.5 (No wheel). I've seen guys try running 4.5 and 5.5s. It was fun to watch, but out of control and good for hobby shop sales.

I still have one of Buddy's rent-a-rides. I have foam and rubber tires. So I would be game to run. I'm sure Buddy would run also. Whatever you guys want to run I'm sure Buddy would be all for it. He just wants guys to come up and have a good time.

Note: a "good time" according to Buddy may differ from other versions of a "good time" . :)
Is this all an effort to bring the BRL founder out for a race? After all...unlimited horsepower on traction-free tires in the dirt IS what he wanted, right?

Just kidding.

From what I've heard Buddy's idea of a good time almost exactly matches my idea of a good time!

As most of you guys know, the BRL has an availability rule covering batteries, motors, and ESC's. Basically, these items have to be available through recognized distribution channels 15 days prior to a BRL event no matter whether they are shown on any approval list or not. With the Green Bay race approaching on November 21, and 22; it seems like a good idea to make some clarification on what will be allowed at that race and what will not.

Although listed as approved batteries per the TOUR and BRL based on earlier information, the Thunderpower 50c battery (PN50001SPR50) and the Epic 5200 40C battery (PNTEP2003) have not been generally available in time and will not be permitted at the Hyperdrive 300 at Victory R/C.

Also the Advanced Electronics ESC distributed by CRC and the new Novak Kinetic ESC have not been available in time and will also not be permitted at this race.

Hey guys... Dirt Oval at Victory Hobbies will begin at 7PM with two qualifiers and the Mains.

Here are the classes:

- Stock Losi Sprint Car
- Open Mod Sprint Car
- Stock SCT
- Mod SCT
- 17.5 Truck

There has been success using rubber or foams on the Mod Sprints. As for the rules for the Mod Sprints... open mod means open mod! The track has a pretty good bank to it (it's like a mini Triclone with clay!) and sticky clay but every track has it's limits! It should be a blast!

Thanks! Brian

Yes Canuck, that means there's No Carpet Practice until Saturday...and wasting a day in Green Bay is even less fun than wasting a day in Cincy.

However, we may be able to set you up with a dirt ride for Friday night.

We're still trying to get in touch with Castle about what has to be done to make it work with 1 cell. There's a brief discussion going on in the BRL rules thread.
