Does anyone know if they have them in the stores?

I don't know if they are in stores but, I had one and it was pretty nice. The controllers, track and cars are good quality. I ended up giving all my MS to my grandsons. They love it.

The TM gave me that Aston Martin set last Christmas  The cars are a tad bigger than Tyco and very well detailed. No pick-up shoes either - just braids.

I like the MS cars because they are quieter and smoother than all the other cars I run on my HO track, and they run on my 1/43rd track with no modifications.

Because the MSCX cars use braid rather than hard pickups, they are great for isolating how much noise is being generated by your track rail joints and by the track slot joints. The braid makes no noise on the rail joints, so all the noise is the steel guide pin banging around in the joint.

Good point - never thought of using them to troubleshoot track bumps, etc.

I have several MS cars and I like the looks and they're reliable right out of the package. But they're not my favorites. The guide doesn't rotate so the car doesn't seem to have much sliding tolerance through the curves. The braids wear out faster than shoes on my Tomy track. Still, I'll buy some more if the bodies are appealing.

Good point about the new (current) chassis design. The few MSCX cars I run have a steel pin like Tyco, Tomy and Lifelike. The new design has a kind of blade which does not rotate and I can see where this would be a real problem. A blade style pin must rotate in order to work.
I was given a few special T-Jet pins which were designed for drag racing. These were long (front to back) and thin, and did not rotate. When I put them on a car and tried them on a road course, they just jammed up in the curves. I can see the same happening with the MSCX cars, although their pins are slightly tapered.
