View Full Version : QSAC West Points race #9 Nov. 13th 14th
Denny Andrews 10-22-2009, 10:24 AM Hey all!!!
The last race of the season is coming up quick. I am very excited to have this race at a new facility in San Bernardino, CA. This place is a State of the Art Quarter Midget race track. Check out this You Tube video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpqUBD8PDiQ
This is hopefully going to be our new home for So Cal QuarterScale Racing. Please bring all friends and family you want, there will be a concession stand up for us to enjoy some BBQ burgers and hot dogs, and of course candy for the kids. I have attached a flyer for the race, this flyer will be at a few local Hobby Shops to try and get as much interest as possible. Let everyone know about it!
The track will open 12ish on Friday afternoon and track will be open for practice soon after till the sun goes down... Camping will be allowed for overnight on Friday night for sure, I'm working on Saturday as we speak.
Due to economy this year I believe we will be having a pretty basic get together for the banquet this year. My plan is to get everyone to pitch in $10-$15 and we'll order some pizzas and get some beverages and just hang out at the track... I did price out a few banquet halls around the area and with the club not having the funds this year to cover the rest we would need each member and guest pay a minimum of $35 each... Too much at these times...
Let me know how you all feel bout that please, maybe something else can be drawn up in time...
Other than that if you have any questions/concerns/comments please call me at 909-638-8976 or P.M. me... either way i'll get back to ya!
I have inserted the file as a PDF and a Word Doc for your convinience...
tshughes 10-22-2009, 12:58 PM Denny, if they have a snack bar all ready set up why not let everyone
get something from them, just get an Idea of how many so they won't
be to suprised. Let them make the profet rather then the Pizzia shop.
Tom
Denny Andrews 10-22-2009, 01:22 PM Thats part of the problem as well Tommy... I like the idea and i'll see what she says, but I have no idea how many people are coming??? I have posted a few times on here as well as our QSAC West forum and a email or 2... not many replies unfortunately. Thats what really killed me for the banquet hall... We'll figure something out... thanks for the suggestion!
mikeee62 10-22-2009, 02:24 PM Denny , I'll be there
mike
Denny Andrews 10-22-2009, 03:34 PM Denny , I'll be there

Raven09 10-22-2009, 03:50 PM Denny, thank you for all your hard work. My wife and I will be there and hope to make it a good night. I will support you in anyway you want to do the banquet thing, maybe get together at a local pizza place or whatever you think will be best for all. Again, thank you for putting up with all this _______. I will try to post as many flyers as I can in the Mesa/Phoenix hobby shops.
Daniel S.
Denny Andrews 10-22-2009, 04:08 PM Thanks for the kind words and support Daniel... Looking forward to seeing you guys out here!
Denny Andrews 10-23-2009, 11:25 AM Got word last night from the track... Overnight camping WILL BE ALLOWED BOTH FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS...
So the idea i have at this time would be maybe collecting an extra $10-$15 per driver at sign-ups for the banquet... That will let us know how many people are planning on staying with us and be able to order the pizzas and drinks and have it ready for us... Would like to see if people can bring some extra tables and chairs if you have them??? If not, we'll make what we have work, no worries...
Let me know if all this sounds good to you all or if you have any other ideas give me a call or P.M. ... 909-638-8976
tshughes 10-23-2009, 01:04 PM Denny, Sounds good to me one for sure.
Tom
Raven09 10-23-2009, 03:28 PM Denny, I like the pizza thing at the track, and I'll be sure to bring extra chairs and or tables.

Denny Andrews 10-29-2009, 02:11 PM Ok guys the time is coming... Gettin excited, Hope to see you all out there!
First off I have purchased the Trophies for the banquet...
So it looks like all is in place for a good show on the 14th... The plan will be to have you guys pay a $10 fee/per person attending our banquet at the time of sign-ups... This will allow us to see how many people are planning on attending it so we'll have time to order up the food and drinks... As i stated earlier if at all possible bring some extra tables and chairs so we can lounge around as comfy as possible. Thanks in advance to those who do!
If any one has any ideas or comments or even concerns for this last race please call me so we can try and make it as smooth running as possible...

mjl175 10-29-2009, 11:24 PM Sounds good AZ guys will be there. PS whats a good starting gear ratio at orange show mike l
Denny Andrews 10-30-2009, 09:55 AM I'm guessing we start at the Phoenix gearing... 14-78 or 79.... but bring them all, if we get the handling down very well could use a 15...
Happy to hear the Phoenix Boys are coming out... Anyone hear from or have a number for Sean McCray... Don't know if he knows this race is going on or not yet... or if he's going to make it out....
Denny Andrews 10-30-2009, 12:58 PM Got a hold of Sean today... He said he'll be there as well...
Keeps looking like we'll have a good turn out...
Again, anybody know people who do not get on here, or don't have the email access, please let them know about the race and/or have them get a hold of me for details...
Thanks!!!
frabru 11-01-2009, 11:50 PM Hi Denny. I'm considering running with you guys at "The Show" for the last race. Do the trucks run a restrictor plate, what size, and can I buy one at the track on race day?
I'm pretty sure my QSAC membership has expired, so can I also sign up on race day?
Thanks
Frank White #36 truck.

The membership period runs from October 31st thru December 31st of the following year,
so if you sign up at this race your membership will be good thru next year 2010.
Bill
tshughes 11-02-2009, 01:36 PM Hey Bill, if that date is correct then I screwed up by signing up last
month at the Super Nats. I have to do it all over again next year.
Good to hear from both you and Frank.
Tom
1/4scale 11-02-2009, 02:02 PM Hi Tom
You should have paid $30.00 if you signed up at the Super Nats
Membership applications received after August 1st will be valid thru December 31st of the same year. The member-ship fee will be reduced 25%. This policy applies to the “Full Membership” classification only. Please note that the QSAC in-surance is based on a fixed cost per member NOT per time period.

frabru 11-07-2009, 07:33 PM Hey guys, I'm looking forward to seeing you all. I'll fill you in on what's been going on for the past couple of years. It's been so long since I've raced I hope I remember how to do it.
mikeee62 11-07-2009, 10:23 PM Still Running Truck ?
frabru 11-08-2009, 12:55 PM Hey Mike, yep I'll be running the ruck. It's pretty much ready to go due to me just running a heat race and then parking it the last time out. I was going to put in a fresh motor, but decided to run it as is except I have to change the gear. I just want to log some laps and have a good time.
Does anyone sell fuel at the track? I haven't been able to find anyone in the San Gabriel Valley who sells VP-16.
Denny Andrews 11-09-2009, 04:47 PM Looking forward to seeing everyone out at the track this weekend. I'm gettin more excited each day it gets closer!!!
Also would like to put a shout out to Mike from WRP. He very generously helped us out by donating an entry fee of $35 to our club even though he's not going to make it out. Very much appreciated Mike! Just shows how we all support each other to help our sport grow! Thanks again!!!

Denny Andrews 11-12-2009, 10:52 AM Well guys as it stands now the gates still won't open til 12:00 noon on Friday... I'm trying to get someone there by 8:00 to give us more time for "Setting up" before practice, but unfortunately everyone affiliated with the track works and they say 12:00 is the earliest someone can get out there... We will have the lights on all weekend so practice can run into the evening, and the gates will be open at first light Saturday morning... Keep in mind the track is opening up there snack bar to us, please support them as much as possible. They also will be there early Saturday offering up Breakfast burritos and what not...
Sounds like we'll have a great turn-out! Looking forward to it!!!

Sounds like a good time - I had hoped to be able to stop by and check it out...we were in FONTANA for the ISCs Ultimate Speed Challenge, but we didn't get done early enough!
The QM tracks should make almost PERFECT Q-Scale tracks too -- I would have loved to be able to take some laps with a 1/10th scale car!! Maybe in the future!
Denny Andrews 11-16-2009, 01:56 PM I'll be posting on here for the future races, we have already confirmed a 3 race deal for next season... February, June, and October so far... The exact dates will come in the near future... You and a few of the 1/10th scalers will be more than welcome to come check it out... Just give me a heads up and we'll make sure we fit you in the schedule!
Hart Racing 11-16-2009, 04:37 PM No problem Mikee, I think we all learned a thing or two about setup that race,It was good to see that #62 out front and hittin your'e marks, congrats.......Dave
