View Full Version : Question on Dash "Lead Sled" Bodies
oldtoyguy 10-17-2009, 11:39 AM HI,
Do the lead sled bodies have holders for the front axle or does a standard t-jet chassis just screw on the body without removing the front axle.
Also , do they handle like the t-jet Lincoln's do?
Thanks.
Buzzy
eastside johnny 10-17-2009, 12:17 PM There are mounts in the body for the front axle.
hojoe 10-17-2009, 12:19 PM Yes, the Lead Sleds do have a holder for the front. The front axle must be removed from the chassis and placed on the Lead Sled. They don't handle like any other tjet because of the long wheelbase.

oldtoyguy 10-17-2009, 12:49 PM Thanks!
Do the handle good on a tyco track if racing 2 of them together? I just don't want to waste my money on them if not. They sure look neat! But I want to race them.
I like the lincolns and the mm 55 chevys but not some of the other long base cars , maybe i should buy a body and see.
slotcarman12078 10-17-2009, 12:52 PM Yuppers, those answers are right on the money. Due to the length of the body, the front axle is attached to hangers under the hood. The issue I find with handling is caused by my scenery. Due to the pin being set back from the front wheels, there is quite a bit of car ahead of the pin. With the stock T Jet tires on the rear, the car is kinda squirrelly is the corners. The effect is magnified a bit more on mine because I add LED lighting to them and the added weight does factor in. My scenery is close to the track on the inside of curves and the front occasionally gets hung up on it. They're still a blast to cruise around the track though, and it wouldn't stop me from running them..:thumbsup:
oldtoyguy 10-17-2009, 01:02 PM Great!
Thanks for the replies , the more they slide in the curves the better I like them!
Guess I will buy 1 and see.
Thanks again all.

I have four of them on T-jet chassis w/RRR wheels designed to fit under the covered wheel wells. I also added a brass pan from RT-HO to each one. The pans fit perfectly underneath. The cars look great with the RRR narrow slotted wheels and the pans make them handle great. Lots of fun to run.
kyle2084 10-21-2009, 07:39 PM with skinny silicones....they handle great! YOU CAN REALLY THROW THEM INTO THE TURNS
tomhocars 10-21-2009, 09:06 PM The lead sleds have a separate mount for the front wheels. They look great with RRR wheels and tires.I still have a good selection of colors available. Thanks Tom Stumpf
Dyno Dom 10-21-2009, 10:02 PM Hi Tom, Good to have seen you at the Sunday show! :)
Do you have the new color Camaros?? Be well!!
rideinstile 10-21-2009, 10:27 PM We bought 4 of them, with stock nos original T-Jet chassis and we have more fun running them around our 4 lane tyco track than a lot of other cars. It's a unique experience, I'd buy them and race them. They are fun!!!!
