OK, so I'm looking at getting my slash this week. I haven't seen anyone selling with a Spektrum or 2.4ghz system (are they the same thing btw?), so what I'm looking for is a cheap system. Any suggestions?

Or basically just plug and play? Is that a radio made by Tower Hobbies? Sorry for all the questions. Things have certainly changed in the past 20 years. DJ1978 10-18-2009, 12:14 AM You don't need to buy new.. Look for someone who has purchased a RTR with a 2.4GHZ radio and swapped it out for their own radio. The Losi ones can be had cheap and the new Traxxas ones also. Many to choose from. Do the research to see what is out there and as always get the best you can afford. The older Spektrum DX3's ( square case) can be found for a good price in the swap and sell sections of a lot of sites and on Ebay. reubin 10-19-2009, 08:59 PM 2.4 G radio system is'nt exchange for all kind of manufacture, cheap radio system is recommended ESKY's 2.4G radio. nutz4rc 10-19-2009, 09:51 PM The Slash comes with a Traxxas radio system already installed. If all you do is bash, it will do the job. It is 27Mgz and that limits it to six channels. As long as there aren't several of you trying to use the same channel, you will be Ok. If you are going to buy the new four wheel drive Slash, it has the new Traxxas 2.4 system in it. Spektrum and Losi radios and receivers (2.4) are compatible. Futaba 2.4 is not compatible with Spektrum or Losi. I doubt that the new Traxxas 2.4 is equal to anyone else either. nutz4rc 10-19-2009, 09:52 PM You don't need to switch servos to work with a 2.4 radio. However some Futaba systems require digital servos if they are the FAST setup. That radio is made by Futaba. vancecooley 10-26-2009, 08:14 AM wow lots of info... I'll be looking on the swap forum to see what i can find vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
