A co-worker gave me this car. Black buick with broken grill and bumper, told me to do something with it. This came to mind real quick.

I cant get the hang of this camera. Looks better in person. The glass came out fogged but transparent. Has a crack through the windshield. Painted the divider between the side windows. Wheel hub is sitting on a wood log. Faded white interior. Added a radiator to the front. I'm going to clean the display cover and then give it back to him (he doesnt know this yet).

I really like the way the paint came out!
Did you paint it black, then brown, then yellow and then sanded it???
Love it!!!

Yep.
Roughed up the black with scotchbrite. Then brown auto primer and yellow. Sanded the yellow down to primer for the "rust". Sanded down to bare metal for trim and around the windows.

Thanks. I cant do the pristine show cars, but I'm having just as much fun doing the opposite. The fun is what counts. When I give my buddy his car back... if he smiles, I'll be happy.

That's really cool. I know he'll be thrilled when you give it back to him. Beings that it's in a nice case it will probably be something he enjoys for years to come.

It was fun. "Remember that old car you gave me" Its yours. It doesnt look like the same car. I see the mess ups I made but I like doing this. I heard a "where's mine?" in the background. I want to try Lee's tip on acrylic paint. But I just used the soap scum idea I had. I painted it on from the inside so I still had a shine, just lost some of the see through. I dont know how long it will last but was a freebie. I gave it away and made somebody happy. That was good enough for me.
