A close friend, Rob, went into the ICU late last night (I got the call initially at 1AM) - they're not quite sure what's wrong yet, but he's tough and I'm sure he'll pull through.

He loves to read, but doesn't have the strength right now to hold a book open - magazines are better.

I spoke to his brother inlaw this morning and he mentioned that he'd picked Rob up a couple of magazines - I don't remember the titles, but they're one step up from the right-next-to-the-cashier type of fodder. NOT Rob's type of magazines at all.

So I grab a bunch of SF related ones for him and as I sit in the waiting room I thumb through them. On one of the pages of December's Sci Fi (I think) is ...

I saw the ad too. Very nice! I also saw an ad in the inside front cover of the Star Trek magazine for Polar Lights/AMTs Trek kit reissues. It's REALLY great seeing print advertising for model kits again!

Good news: I visited Rob today ... at home! They found the source of internal bleeding and fixed it. He'll be back to work on Wednesday. Phew! (He lost tons - 7 units of blood to "top him off".)

On the Viper front - I'm really looking forward to this kit. It's my favorite version of the ship: like a later model of the original fighter. I know Moebius's implementation will be super.
