I could not believe my eyes!
The Star Lost is available on DVD.
Found it at the local Fry's store.
Now the price of $39.00 scared me away.
Did anybody else find it? What do you think?

it's one of those shows that is a lot better in my memories. It does suffer from being shot on video tape. The transfer is pretty good, but very dated looking

I like it, but in the same mindset of knowing it comes from the 70's. Don't expect tons of action and cutting edge SciFi and you won't be disappointed. I don't regret the purchase, tho got mine from Amazon.com.
BTW, a Search of the subject here in the Movies for Modelers sub-forum: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/search.php?searchid=734206

So it must have been sitting on the shelf for over a year now without a taker!

I bought years ago a set on DVD,not official, because I heard a lot about the series. I have yet to finish it, it bored me.

I have the region 2 version of the DVD set, but it doesn't have all the original episodes for the series. The region 2 version has all the episodes that were released on VHS here in the states as the "Quintilogy" (or something like that).
I wasn't aware that there was a new release for the US.
I've got a soft spot for the series since I first saw it back in the early 70's. The Magicam/Videotape effects really date it quite a bit since in camera effects were the cheapest way to go. There's something about the original concept that I like. If someone remade this, it's something that very few people would remember and would benefit quite a bit from an update.
I'll have to look into this DVD release...

Starlost was okay as a low Budget 70s show ,much like Land of the Lost
and others which were shot on old analog video with tube cameras.
The concept was a good one just handled a bit boringly.
Best thing was the Valleyforge like Starlost ship and that Trumbull had something to do with it.
