The Brushless Racing League John’s BSR Tires Oval Tour kicks off its 2009-2010 season with the SPEKTRUM 300 at Tri-State Hobbies on October 17th and 18th.

Adapting to new changes will be the name of the game at this season’s inaugural event. For the first time, the BRL will use Lipo batteries only and most classes will be open to multiple motor manufacturers. New motor and battery combinations will make every round of practice and qualifying interesting as racers learn how to set up these combinations on the Tri-State oval. And this event will be the first major event held on the new carpet racing surface installed by the new owners at Tri-State.

For this first BRL event there will be a couple of supplemental regulations:

1. Tri-State is limiting tire traction compounds to Jack the Gripper only. Hopefully Ken and Doug will have a good stock on hand for those who can’t obtain it prior to arriving at the event.

2. Because this is the first race under several new regulations, all cars must undergo an initial inspection prior to the close of registration in addition to the normal inspections before and after each qualifying round and Main. This initial inspection will allow us to uncover any issues with the cars and the new rules before racers are ready to hit the track. These inspections will be performed Friday evening and Saturday morning.

3. Tri-State will be open Friday night for pit setup and practice. Practice will be from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Tri-State will post later when the shop will be open to begin pit setup.

Okay, should have made this the roll call thread as well for the race. As in the past, please post who'll be attending and the class(es) you intend to run along with your car number.

Remember our points classes are 13.5, 21.5, 10.5 and 7.5 but we'll run the TOUR Sportsman 17.5 truck class if there is enough interest.

Let the roll call begin......

Due to my crappy work schedule, I cannot race BRL at my home track, but I will be there to help.

Always able to marshal.

Hey guys, Doug and I will have extended hours for this race. On Friday, the store will open at 11 am as usual, but will remain open till everyone has made any purchases or taken care of any business after practice is closed. Chuck, call me and let me know what hours the guys need for Saturday and Sunday. Also, as of right now, we have four cases of Gripper, and have more on the way for this event. We spoke to the guys at Specailized R/C and they have informed us that the new cans will have a dobber instead of the brush. Even though they have raised the price a few dollars on the standard sized cans, they are offering a smaller can at the old price. Doug and I will do our best to get both sizes in the store. If any of you would like to inform us of what size you intend to buy, feel frr to pm me here. Thanks.

Ken

COT bodies are slow???????

BS!

13.5 COT pulled out a new lap record in only second week of racing on the new carpet as compared to the old THD body from 6-7 months ago.

Being this my first weekend using JtG, other than smelling like I was starting a charcoal fire for BBQ, no complaints other than that damn brush!
