View Full Version : what is the differance? 41-willys 09-24-2009, 10:41 PM between the topper A.J. Foyt and the Parnelli-Jones Indy type cars? I don't see any differance:confused: Thanks for your help:wave: 50yearoldkid 09-25-2009, 09:56 AM I Think That they are the same casting, just different names on the same casting, The Al Unser car is the hard to find car! That said, I will say that i am NOT an EXPERT Hope this helps you! bunkerjim 09-26-2009, 05:21 PM Here's my understanding about the Indy cars, which of coarse is not written in stone and subject to change at any moment. All three cars are the same casting with different names on the chassis. You should only find the Al Unser on the Indy Winner card, but to save cost, Topper slipped P. Jones into the blister even thou it's labeled Al Unser. You can find all three indy cars on the challengers card. Also it is said that you wont find a ruby colored Al Unser. http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o472/bunkerjim/Bp/alunser.jpg I've also read that all three cars may have came with a plastic wing, but personally I believe at the moment only the P. Jones did. http://i343.photobucket.com/albums/o472/bunkerjim/Bp/DSCF8292.jpg Finally I'm looking for a nice A.J. Foyt in blister, so if anybody has one their willing sell, please contact me. That is too cool. I think it would do today's JL collectors a bit of good to be reminded of their "heritage." bunkerjim 09-28-2009, 11:23 AM Hey, Bunkerjim, may I borrow your Al Unser says "Johnny Lightning beats them all" pic? Generally I don't have any problem with anybody borrowing my pics, as long as there not being used for anything dishonest.... don't want to see them on E-Bay unless I put them there.  TJinSA 09-28-2009, 01:27 PM What's the white piece in with the Parnelli car? Is it an adapter to run in the Hot Wheels accelerator buildings? bunkerjim 09-28-2009, 11:16 PM What's the white piece in with the Parnelli car? Is it an adapter to run in the Hot Wheels accelerator buildings? No I don't believe the plastic piece would offer any help for the car to go through the Hot Wheels accelerator buildings. It would need to be on the side of the car to keep the tires from getting caught. I would have to speculate that it may have helped keep the motor from getting caught on the slotted plastic shielding that was over the track, that you would find on some of the Johnny Lightning accelerators. :) juantoo3 09-28-2009, 11:51 PM Generally I don't have any problem with anybody borrowing my pics, as long as there not being used for anything dishonest.... don't want to see them on E-Bay unless I put them there.  Thank you very much!
