wrenchhead 09-21-2009, 08:00 PM hey al im working on a sponser for u hope it works out donald
mr_meat68 09-21-2009, 10:35 PM that sounds like an awesome little series between 2 tracks...
SRI20 09-21-2009, 11:50 PM Thanks Donald. It should really be a good thing. I have been planning on something like this for the last two years but had to wait to get out of school before I could execute it. Racing is just around the corner and the purse is going to be bigger because we are doing a 50/50 that will be added to the purse so when I say that $100 is guaranteed to the champion that means it could become larger!!!!
Benracin' 09-22-2009, 11:20 PM This is going to be a great series, can't wait for it to start!!!!!!!!!!!!

cwalsh 09-23-2009, 05:45 PM What is the motor/battery rule for the 13.5 pro class, 25c and or 40c, novak only? Thanks in advance for the info.
Chris
cwalsh 09-23-2009, 05:50 PM Ok, now that I have learned to read before posting (saw the link with the rules), I am now looking for some advice. The question is for the people running 13.5 and that is what is everyone leaning toward for their choice of battery? I know last year is was pretty much only smc 25c, but now there are quite a few choices and I am really not up to date on what the hot battery is.
Racin'Jason 8 09-24-2009, 09:16 AM Hi Chris,
I've been using a SMC 50C and really like it.
SRI20 09-24-2009, 12:03 PM Less then a month away. If you plan on running the North vs. South Tour and have a picture of your car please send the pictures to slcscs@yahoo.com and your hometown so we can get them up on the website.
This should be a great and fun series and I cant wait!!!!

PANCAR17R 09-24-2009, 06:29 PM Can we get a roll call for this tour, for both classes. Was thinking it would be good because it has a place for my ten year old to run. Just trying to get an idea if the COT class is going to be a class for beginners or not??
cwalsh 09-24-2009, 07:06 PM Hi Chris,
I've been using a SMC 50C and really like it.
Thanks Jason, I guess it will between the TP-40c and the smc. I have read where some people claim that there is no difference between the smc 40c and the 50c, they claim it is only a different lable, I believe that this is on cycling and not track performance. Do you have an opinion on that topic?

I am the promoter and have been running cars for a long time. The COT is for all racers but the more serious racers are going to be in the 13.5 class. Sign him up and come out for a great time. We are all hear to have fun.

I think that given the latest marketing strategies from the battery companies, I wouldn't be surprised if the 40c and 50c SMC had the same guts. However, I also believe that if there was a difference in the burst ratings (only 10c), based what we've seen from the 2S counterparts I don't think either pack will win or lose a race on its own.

harringBONE 10-12-2009, 12:06 PM 13.5 for me, unless there is anything bigger.
tripleh3 10-12-2009, 07:13 PM Whats the start time.
Racin'Jason 8 10-12-2009, 08:04 PM For you...Pro 4 O'clock
northeastracer 10-12-2009, 08:21 PM dont you guys already race on saturday? what's the deal with racing on sunday? how much will this cost? sorry for the questions i a noob.
Racin'Jason 8 10-12-2009, 09:01 PM The idea behind holding Tour events on Sundays was to not affect turnout on the normal race night of the two tracks involved (Saturday). It certainly was not done to potentially hurt the turnout of tracks that normally run on Sunday, e.g. Barre. Plus, the Tour is only a total of 6 races.
SRI20 10-12-2009, 09:48 PM Start time is 1 pm. doors open at 10 am. $20 entry to run. At LEAST $100 guaranteed to the champion of the COT and 13.5 Pro champions plus merchandise from mccallister and BSR tires.
Racin'Jason 8 10-12-2009, 10:26 PM 13.5 for me, unless there is anything bigger.
Chris, 17.5 is bigger than 13.5. I'll sign you up. lol
Darkman17 10-12-2009, 10:30 PM I was surprised how well the car drove this week at platt. I might just make another guest appearance this sunday in 13.5.. I better get off this computer and get working on that car!!!!
Racin'Jason 8 10-12-2009, 10:42 PM .. I better get off this computer and get working on that car!!!! :thumbsup:I thought you just went through it in '07? :p
northeastracer 10-12-2009, 11:16 PM Start time is 1 pm. doors open at 10 am. $20 entry to run. At LEAST $100 guaranteed to the champion of the COT and 13.5 Pro champions plus merchandise from mccallister and BSR tires.
thanks for the info, how much of the entry goes to the track and how much goes to the tour, why so much to race if you have sponsors for $50.00 bucks a pop and the planned tour money is $100 to each class winners, two classes total for a combined $200.00.
i would think that if this is a six race tour with any kind of a turn out even if only 5 bucks a car entry goes to the tour per race/ per car you would have alot more to work with for prise money, or maybe all of the entry goes to the track,or maybe the tour is paying out more finsinhing spots than just the champion, I dont know? just asking,
anyways, whats the deal with 17.5, is that cot only or is there a third class that is being run, some of the people posted to sign up for 17.5 semi/pro? does that mean cot, thanks

If you are worried about prize money, then you are in the wrong hobby. Maybe because you are new you don't realize what this Tour is all about. As for the 17.5 classes, the COT uses 17.5 as does the semi-pro. You can see the rules for each class on the RCH website.
harringBONE 10-13-2009, 12:46 PM Tour site says:
17.5 COT
13.5 Pro
northeastracer 10-13-2009, 01:15 PM Tour site says:
17.5 COT
13.5 Pro
that is why i was confused, the site says 17.5 cot and 13.5 pro
is cot 17.5 the same as the 17.5 semi pro that people on this thread are talking about or is it another class, thanks
SRI20 10-13-2009, 02:57 PM If I get any further sponsors then of course the purse will go up. that is why it says the champion is guaranteed at LEAST $100. As of right now we do not have any other sponsors for this tour other then the tracks and the racers. We have merchandise sponsors from McCallister and BSR. The entry fee is $20 for the race.
http://www.slcscs.com/COTRules.html if you want the rules! The 17.5 semi pro class is a filler class and a option for both 13.5 Pro drivers and COT drivers to run a second class. This is not a COT Bodied class.

It was $40-$60 to race each neot race last year. Thanks for putting this together AL.
SRI20 10-16-2009, 04:51 PM You are welcome guys. Just so everyone is aware. 1/4 of the entry fee from the points classes ( COT and 13.5) goes to the tour plus 50/50 collected. I also have 5 COT bodies and 1 Toyota Camary body along with stickers from McCallister Racing. I have 8 pairs of tires from BSR that will be distributed out at the points banquet at the last race. $20 for point class entries and $10 for non point classes (17.5 semi pro, sk, trucks, what ever the track wants to run that day.
Also at each race will have 1st place trophies for the A-main winners
50/50 will consist of the 1st prize being the money and 2nd prize a free Tour entry for the up coming event!
