SMS88 09-13-2009, 07:44 PM There´s no doubt that by the time Lesney designed the K-26, they had realised that it was purely a toy for under 10s and that there was no extra sales to be gleaned to design in any adult collector appeal. Although I have no specific memories, the chances are that a fullsize version of the K13 passed me in the street many times during my childhood, and as such this toy still has great appeal to full grown collectors........ sschevyman1 09-13-2009, 09:06 PM Those are AWESOME!! The Moutain 09-14-2009, 06:13 PM although always a toy, the late 70’s kings were definitely childlike. the superfast change over used the same reasoning, built for children and not adults. that's one reason why the y series took off in the 70’s and 80’s and also the series i most enjoy. the newer models (2000's) that are shown in other posts are very nice and have an adult appeal to them. late 70’s toy http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9672/securitytruckk19.jpg late 70’s early 80’s toy with adult appeal and heavy too http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/7871/volvoestatesk74.jpg sschevyman1 09-14-2009, 08:24 PM Oh yeah, I agree for sure, those are super nice!!! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
