View Full Version : Finally...the return of SAMCRO deadmanincfan 09-06-2009, 02:40 AM Tuesday night, 10 P.M....FX network finally...FINALLY...gives us Season 2 of SONS OF ANARCHY! :woohoo: Ohio_Southpaw 09-06-2009, 01:18 PM I've been waiting for this for a long, long time!! WooT! Griffworks 09-06-2009, 09:58 PM Have never seen the series. Any give a brief synopsis? . deadmanincfan 09-07-2009, 01:42 AM Sons of Anarchy takes place around my neck of the woods, in San Joaquin County, CA :woohoo: in the fictional town of Charming. It involves the exploits of a hard-core motorcycle club called the Sons of Anarchy, also known as SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original). They have their fingers in almost every somewhat shady deal in the area, including having the local police chief in their pocket, but most of the locals look upon them as a good thing for Charming. I have to say, these aren't people you'd want living next to you, but the stories are really compelling...plus Katey Sagal is still really easy on the eyes... ;) ...give it a look, Griff ol' bean! John P 09-07-2009, 09:52 AM I'm glad somebody explained the acronym finally! :freak: Griffworks 09-07-2009, 10:04 AM I'm with JohnP on the acronym, tho knew I'd heard of the series name before. Just never knew. It does indeed sound interesting and I might well give it a shot. I don't watch FX, plus I just don't watch a lot of TV these days and when I do it's usually been recorded by our most divine DVR, so I don't exactly see a lot of commercials, either. It's a two-edged sword sometimes. Thanks for the low-down! . Zorro 09-07-2009, 11:31 AM My problem with this series is the same problem I have with a lot of the old biker flicks from the Sixties - I just don't buy the actors as genuine outlaw bikers. deadmanincfan 09-07-2009, 09:04 PM Kim Coates (Tig) I absolutely think could be an outlaw biker, and Ron Perlman...'nuff said... MangoMan 09-09-2009, 06:19 AM I blame my step-son for getting me hooked on SOA! Great show. Antimatter 09-09-2009, 08:38 PM My problem with this series is the same problem I have with a lot of the old biker flicks from the Sixties - I just don't buy the actors as genuine outlaw bikers. And just how many real outlaw motorcycle members do you know? The ones I have come to know over the years hate the show. Not because of the characters, but because of the many real mc rules the characters break. The biggest one is you never, ever, wear your colors in a car but only on a bike. Also, all real outlaw bikers wear the 1% patch. These guys don't. So they are not outlaw bikers. They're an mc group but suppose to be mechanics by trade. 1% groups are real outlaws who make they're money the old fashoned way. Drugs, prostitutes and guns. Then I guess I just don't buy the actors as an mc group but suppose to be mechanics by trade. deadmanincfan 09-10-2009, 10:55 PM Have you seen a flick called HELL RIDE ? I can accept the cast of Sons of Anarchy as outlaw bikers FAR easier than I can accept Michael Madsen as an outlaw biker who wears a tuxedo jacket... :drunk: Zorro 09-11-2009, 08:25 AM Have you seen a flick called HELL RIDE ? I can accept the cast of Sons of Anarchy as outlaw bikers FAR easier than I can accept Michael Madsen as an outlaw biker who wears a tuxedo jacket... :drunk: Haven't seen HELL RIDE. I was really impressed by Madsen the first couple of movies I saw him in. Then I realized - this guy delivers the same exact performance every time - doesn't matter if he's a mob guy, a cop, whatever - his performance is all slouch and facial tics. deadmanincfan 09-12-2009, 02:17 AM HELL RIDE is pretty much an ego stroke for writer/director/wannabe star Larry Bishop(wearing the WORST fake tan I've ever seen and standing like he wants to be macho but can't quite make it)...even Dennis Hopper couldn't save this one... :( vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
