Kevin Cole 08-31-2009, 02:31 PM That's kinda weird... Saturday while I holding that sweet new Leading Edge 1cell chassis I felt a little hungry.I thought it was hunger for the upcoming carpet season...but I can always go for some good vittles. kirb dogg 09-05-2009, 08:07 PM my 13.5 1cell hangman was a rocket today at jc hobbies great car. can't wait 2 see the new car FLYINGFINN#8 09-07-2009, 12:41 PM Is the new chassis going to out before the Ovalmasters? left lane 09-08-2009, 01:12 AM Is the new chassis going to out before the Ovalmasters? PUTTING THE NEW CHASSIS ( AKA HITMAN ) TOGETHER NOW ILL GETS SOME PICS UP SHORTLY Mach10_shooter 09-08-2009, 03:47 PM Chad, putting mine together as well. What's your opinion on flat mounting the servo? Chris Kevin Cole 09-09-2009, 08:27 PM Sounds like you guys are moving right along with the new HitMan chassis...I'm kinda jealous:D I hope DW doesn't forget the guys at the new Big Rug in Indy.It would be ashame to have a Hoosier boy running a Silva at the newest/biggest carpet track in the Midwest. TLCNUM3 09-10-2009, 02:31 PM Chad, what about those Pics?????????? You might also want to look close at that t-plate... I'm just sayin! JDW 09-12-2009, 10:14 PM So it looks like a Future with cut outs on the tray what else has changed is the pod the same?.Is that the new finishline tplate? Jake Mach10_shooter 09-12-2009, 10:37 PM There are a few changes to the chassis plate itself. All other parts have small changes too. I would say just enough to make an already fast car that much faster. As for the t-plate,,, That's the new Leading Edge extra soft. DaveW 09-12-2009, 11:10 PM JDW The new Hitman does look similar to the Future, but that is it. This chassis actually has more changes (improvements) then I have ever made in a new design. We took the Hangman/Future base design and focused on what is needed for the new lighter 1 cell racing. (although you can still run a 2 cell) The chassis is cut out for a little more flex. Both on the left side and the front. The front track has been changed a little. The rear pod plates are shorter than any of my previous designs. Every part (with the exception of the nerf) has had some changes in an effort for better performance and or to be more user friendly. That is why I asked about the pod I could tell it was diffrent so its shorter and looks like you can tuck the left wheel in a bit more. You guys sellin the extra soft I would like to try one out. Looks cool DAVE:thumbsup: Fl Flash 09-13-2009, 08:06 AM Good Looking Chassis Dave!!! betcha it's fast too................................hmmmmm were'd I leave that credit card :p DaveW 09-13-2009, 02:23 PM Thanks Guys. I want to point out that the Hitman kit will include all of the graphite parts along with the standoffs. The T plates will be available separately. Mach10_shooter 09-13-2009, 03:40 PM Sorry about that Dave. I should have shown all the parts in that pic. Chris ACE 09-13-2009, 08:46 PM probaly a n00b question, but is the front drilled for new or old front end? DaveW 09-14-2009, 09:04 PM The front is drilled for the standard bolt pattern, You can run your favorite old school front end or with some of the aftermarket blocks available you can use the new R5 parts. Fl Flash 09-14-2009, 09:44 PM Here's the part you need to mount the R5 front end. http://www.lefthander-rc.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=1854 stesh 09-15-2009, 06:59 PM Is this a upgrade for the hole car or can you just upgrade with the chassis? I now have the Future? DaveW 09-15-2009, 07:47 PM The Hitman is a complete new chassis kit. That said, it does share the same T plate pattern. The Hitman uses shorter pod plates and to retain the same wheelbase the front end mounting has been adjusted on the chassis. You could use the older Hangman/Future pod plates with the Hitman Chassis plate, the result would be that you would have a slightly longer wheelbase (on some slick low grip tracks this may even be desirable). To get the best proformance from the Hitman (on carpet) I recommend the Hitman pod plates. As of now, I am using all available Hitman chassis plates to assemble kits, in a couple of weeks I should have some spare plates ready. Kevin Cole 09-16-2009, 01:04 AM Thanks for the update Dave...the new avatar looks great too.Hopefully I can get a similar banner & a Leading Edge banner to hang in the new Indy indoor facility. Heads up LE faithful-Marion County Fairgrounds RC Raceway's & R/Car will have the largest permanent indoor carpet track in the Midwest and maybe the nation located just down the road from Leading Edge in Indy. We hope to become LE's home track and already have several of their team drivers in our circle of racers. I will be managing the facility and also plan to run the new Hitman in the old & grey classes(Sportman Truck 17.5 and COT 13.5). Judging by local driver response our Pro class will be 7.5. We inked the deal to secure the building for a minimum of 4yrs yesterday and will be ordering the new carpet this week. In the past few months we have established a great outdoor asphalt oval that is around a 600 foot run line and a very successful short coarse for our Slash racers. Now we begin work on this massive(Birds size) carpet oval and indoor facility. Indy is about to blow up huge with the premier RC facility available in the nations heartland. DaveW 09-17-2009, 02:06 PM Kevin Thats great news, we need a good carpet track in the Indy area badly. I am sure it will be popular. Keep up the good work. Part Timer 09-17-2009, 02:10 PM I know a couple more Leading Edge cars that will be there ;) mGraves 09-17-2009, 02:23 PM Kevin Thats great news, we need a good carpet track in the Indy area badly. I'd like to meet up with you this weekend. He sent it out yesterday and right now I have it in my hands!! Incredible. Too bad I have to coach my daughters softball practice tontie or I would be locked up in my workshop right now. Dave, thanks a lot for the great service. Are any of you guys going to the Ovalmasters? I am trying to talk the wife into it. Since i quit fishing tournamens out of state a couple years ago we have not traveled to do something like that. It sounds like fun. Bob DaveW 09-19-2009, 08:48 AM Jp Your car looked good, just a case of that Velo racing luck. Bob Thank you. I hope to stop by the track later, I'll catch up with you. As the carpet fever grows maybe we can get a group of racers together for the Ovalmasters. jason crist 09-19-2009, 09:20 AM Dave call me about you coming racing today.... Yes the LE chassis have been proven to be a winner. You guys don't know what your going to see with Team LE coming in and racing. DaveW 09-21-2009, 01:28 PM We now have the new Leading Edge Extra Soft "Speed Plate" ready to go. Looks as good on line as it does in person. Leading Edge Hitman "Why question the answer!" Mach10_shooter 09-21-2009, 04:00 PM Thanks Kevin, nickbell1390 09-21-2009, 07:47 PM where might one purchase one of those tplates, and how much? FLYINGFINN#8 09-21-2009, 08:14 PM Should you mount the servo flat using the r5 front end? Kevin Cole 09-21-2009, 08:55 PM where might one purchase one of those tplates, and how much? If Lefthander doesn't have them yet...I bet they will soon. 67-4-fun 09-21-2009, 11:31 PM hey guys i know this probably has been asked qiut a few times, just can't find it, but what affect to the car is there when running standard t bar standard pod vs standard pod offset T-plate? also what affct to the car to move the crossbrace to the left from standard?? JP DaveW 09-22-2009, 12:07 AM Mark That's great to hear. Chris The pictures look great. Nick Lefthander should have some on Wednesday. Flying You can mount the servo flat if you like, there is really nothing different about the R5 front when it comes to servo mounting. Jon To answer your question about offset T plate vs straight up T plate. Short version, Offset will have a little less aggressive steering. Straight up will have more steering. The crossbrace bolts down along with the T plate, it is not independent. If the T plate is offset (left) then the crossbrace will bolt on using the left set of holes. 67-4-fun 09-22-2009, 12:42 AM Mark That's great to hear. Chris The pictures look great. Waht advantage is the super oft over a harder one? Just trying to figure out what i need to get for my Hitman. Also what does the different degree bottom plates do for you? Thanks, Bob mGraves 09-22-2009, 11:19 PM Softer T plate provides more rear bite....the stiffer you go will provide less bite. The T-plate works with the center shock angle, spring and oil weight.....all of these are contributing factors along with tire compounds. The bottom plates add rearsteer to the car. 1/2 degree and 0 degree will probably be about all you run. Rearsteer will get the car through the corner better and more efficiently, but will slightly scrub straightaway speed. mGraves 09-22-2009, 11:23 PM The LE Extra Soft plate is going to work at about any track. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
