I had to rescue a pal way up in the hills yesterday. he got his 4X stuck but GOOD. (never let anybody know you have two strong winches)...lol

Anyway, high up in the Mountains, all I could think about was that silly movie.

Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood,Ray Walston, some really great songs...

Gonna paint your wagon
Gonna paint it fine
Gonna use oil-based paint

Singing is the lowest form of communication!

"Got a dream boy, got a song;
Paint your wagon, and come along.
Where are we going, I don't know;
Where are we headed, I ain't certain.
All I know is I am on my way..."

That's a sure sign I've seen it too many times. I know the song off by heart...

I have a student who's parents named her Mariah because of that song in PYW. Clint Eastwood singing in a musical western? Who thought that was a good idea? But it is true that the best things in life are dirty!

Marvin passed up the lead in "The Wild Bunch" because the paycheck was bigger for "Paint Your Wagon". I'm bettiing William Holden lauded Lee's choice.

Paint Your Wagon. That was a major pair of talents.

And I'm talking about Jean Seberg.

Just checked IMDb. Didn't know she was dead.
"Daughter Nina died as a result of complications sustained from Jean overdosing on sleeping pills during her pregnancy, on 25 August 1970, two days after her birth.
On every subsequent anniversary of her daughter Nina's death, Jean attempted suicide. In 1978, she somehow survived an attempt, throwing herself under a train on the Paris Metro.
Rumors flew that Jean's suicide was masterminded by the FBI but it was never proven. Buried in the Montparnasse cemetery in Paris, France, her funeral was attended by such notables as Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir.
Committed suicide in the back seat of an automobile in a Paris suburb. Her body wasn't found until 11 days later."
