A classic PU and with a camper on top, wow. Something in 1/64th that you don't ever see. What's everyones thoughts on this one? What about variations: Just a topper on the back, a tonneu cover on the back? This one has me excited which hasn't happened in a while.
Mark Hosaflook 08-28-2009, 02:44 PM Not much in die-cast has grabbed me lately but to me this is a stunningly well done piece. The rear quarter picture almost looks like a real vehicle.:)
Eurosport94 08-28-2009, 02:48 PM too bad it's only for club members!
Snow owl 08-28-2009, 03:17 PM too bad it's only for club members!
Agreed.
GeraldE61 08-28-2009, 03:21 PM Maybe they will put it in a future release. They do sometimes put the new stuff to club members only.

Nope, it was said that it would be retired after this one and only release. Never to be seen again.
sorry, but I'm sure they will pop up on the evil bay and TTP.
carhauler 08-28-2009, 05:20 PM Join the underhood club,,,,Less than $30 and that includes a limited edition car. I'll buy any pickups they make with or without campers. How about reworking the Dodge Chassis to 4X4????

.
Not sure I believe that one.
dragonhead00 08-28-2009, 09:30 PM That's a great looking piece. Nicely done. Yeah, too bad it's exclusive to club members.
JPDiecast 08-28-2009, 10:59 PM WOW, that is a great looking piece!
farmer64th 08-29-2009, 12:30 AM I love this set up. My grandfather had a set up like this and went all over Iowa and Minnesota fishing with it. I would love to see the camper offered by its lonesome so you could put it into other trucks. Maybe offer it in a set like the tools were. A 4 piece set with a toolbox like inthe red Dodge pickup, a tonneau cover, The oter topper coming out and this camper. Could be a seller.
jefferson 08-29-2009, 04:11 AM looks like I need to hurry up and join I guess....
twitch43 08-29-2009, 04:34 AM Not sure I believe that one.
The truck as you see it in this thread will only be available in the UTH Club,
you will then see it without the camper when it is released to the masses.
Hope this helps.

Exclusive UTH Truck
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Guys -
Here's a sneak peek at an upcoming UTH Exclusive truck - a 1:64 1970 Chevy C-10 with camper top. We have no other plans at the current time to release this truck with camper top anywhere else. It will only be available here on UTH. Only 1,008 units are being produced.
Here is what the design for the truck will look like:

Below are first shots of the camper top on the Chevy C-10 truck from Auction Block - Series 8. I will post pre-production samples of the truck as soon as I have them.

Enjoy!

Clamjuice 08-29-2009, 04:54 AM Now, I could be wrong; but they way I understand it no other release will have the Camper like this.
I believe Matt posted and said that it was extremely expensive to produce the camper and wasn't something that they could put into normal production.
twitch43 08-29-2009, 05:28 AM You can be sure I'm going to get me one with the camper.
I don't do trucks, but I'm really digging this one.
79f150 08-29-2009, 10:40 AM i love the trucks they should make a pikcup series. i want one of these badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!
azslogan 08-29-2009, 01:53 PM Just waiting for these to appear at the club to join!

So I'm I.
Clamjuice 08-29-2009, 04:45 PM FYI, this is an exclusive; not a club car. For your club car, you get to choose one of the following;;;;;;;Chevelle, GTO, Mach I.

True.... But you have to be an UTH Club member to have the opportunity to purchase the camper. At least until they make it to the 'bay. IMHO, the camper topper is a bit to "exaggerated" for this casting. I applaud the effort and will add one to my collection.
GeraldE61 08-29-2009, 09:02 PM . We have no other plans at the current time to release this truck with camper top anywhere else.
Enjoy!

Clamjuice 08-29-2009, 09:40 PM You are absolutely correct, anything is possible.
Is it likely, not in my opinion.:freak:
silverlakefarms 09-01-2009, 12:35 PM Is there a price on this camper/truck combination? Maybe greenlight could make it a plastic accessory(looks diecast), so they could mass market it. Still something cool and unusual you don't see in the mainstream, except maybe matchbox.

they did a great job on it didn't they, but it is not die cast; only plastic.
We don't know how much these are going to be yet, it hasn't been announced. We are chomping at the bit, I can tell you that much.
carhauler 09-01-2009, 05:20 PM GreenLight says it will be a one time offering and the plastic camper is expensive to produce. Better signup and get your's when you can.
i need a couple of these.
azslogan 09-03-2009, 12:56 AM I've called on three different days and no one at Greenlight can apparently answer the phone or return a phone call

I can understand it being costly if only running 1008 of these. On the other hand, does the tooling not become more cost effective/cheaper if you produce a large amount. Say GL invest $100000 for eg. for the plastic injected camper cast. If you make 1008 they are expensive, if they produce 10 000 does the unit cost not come down?
The way I see it, I beleived the garage tools were going to only be available(ever) with the cars, then they came out in a pack.
I think to pay for the camper, it looks long enough to be on the Dodge longbed and maybe other vintage longbeds they produce.
SLF
by doing the camper in plastic it would be alot cheaper. than in metal.
03silvergt 09-08-2009, 04:12 PM by doing the camper in plastic it would be alot cheaper. than in metal.
it is plastic
the sample sure looks like metal to me.
03silvergt 09-08-2009, 07:44 PM they (greenlight) said it was plastic
Here is what was said
The camper top will be plastic for several reasons but the two most important are:
1) If we did it in metal it would blow our cost out of the water worse than it already is. As it stands now it is too expensive to use in a regular set.
2) The more important reason, we can limit the number of parts to really make this piece look great in final assembly and we can inject it in clear. This allows for realistic windows that can you can see through and the exterior areas will be painted.
Since you might be able to see inside maybe we should start working on some 1:64th scale shag carpeting... ;-)
Hope this answers your questions,
- Matt

thanks matt:wave: and for the carpet idea
Trolleydodger 09-09-2009, 09:30 PM I thinking what's driving up the cost on the camper is the detailing. It doesn't look like it is easy or quick to do.
NYSWLHUNTER 09-14-2009, 12:51 AM I MUST HAVE THIS! Who can help me!
cd71148 09-15-2009, 01:48 PM I'd like to see them put the camper on a 66 Ford Camper Special.
