A 'dream-come-true' ... my collection now has
'replicated' versions of the rear-loader BEACH BOMB.

And two (count 'em, TWO) of these jewels ... ah yes, together at last.
Well, obviously, they're not original RLBBs. But for my particular mission,
even better. Two that I can 'kuztom' in my own way (ain't life grand ?)

This new pickup variant ... and this new closed-side-window
edition ... are both nice re-toolings from the Mattel's RLC.

Still in the early phases of progress, I've a lot yet to do.

All 4 headlight wells are drilled out.
Crystal lenses will be set into them.

These wheel-sets are the final tires and rims.
Glad I'm able to have both cars match.

The new exhaust pipes are made,
test-fit-installed in their positions.
(I tried drilling out the cast's pipes.
Guess who totally messed them up.)

The interiors will be Snow-White-Pearl
with body-color accents (possibly in
the center of the seats). I've made
2 tall retro-looking shift-levers as well.
Some of these initial photos show new
re-shaped high-back seats, as well as
2 new custom-built steering wheels.

At last ... The surfboards completed.
I've never before applied decals ... so I
practiced with some other 'water-slides'
on various plastic surfaces. The new decals
on these s-boards are from 'FlamingGraphics'.

The 'wave-face' (and fins) of each board have all
been coated with a pearl-white (marbleized) lacquer.
The 'ride-face' of each board displays the graphic design
which has been clear-coated to assure long-life durability.
These boards were customized from the standard HOT WHEELS
boards; same surfboard mold used originally on the DEORA and RLBB.

The Kandy Aqua for this pick-up can be painted
directly on the flawlessly chrome-plated body
(wonderful plating quality on Mattel's part.)

Any further metal-prep-work on this bus will be too involved ... thus to cover
the still-visible flaws, I'm using a Snow-White-Pearl base under a kandy yellow.
My first chosen color was the Kandy hot-pink ... but to be more unique, and to
be able to get a smooth high-gloss paint scheme, I've chosen Lemon-Frost.

Thank you for taking time to look at this thread.
... laughter to all of you ...
:D

Thank you 'jingles'.
Glad you like them.

Mattel did do a nice job
on the chrome ... you're right.
