is it possible for a list of sorts to be posted as to which companies are considering their products to be accepted for approval? if a list could be posted as to which companies were having items sent to tour or roar for approval.. then a racer might be able to decide on what motor or battery he or she might want to buy before the season starts. since most carpet tracks from what i have heard are opening up around september 1st.. and items that are approved are not listed or announced until october.. this would be a good way of deciding if you needed to wait on buying a battery or motor. some people need to test more than others especially if they are new to carpet or just want to "break in" a new car. if a list could be posted soon after september 1st.. then you would have time to test or decide to wait until a battery or motor gets or does not get approved. such is the case with the smc 50c battery.. if a list were posted and you did not see a new battery manufacturer on the list.. you could feel comfortable with buying a battery since it would not be for another 6 months that it could change.

I highly doubt that the TOUR has a list of pending items for approval. The TOUR doesn't approve the items, ROAR does and I doubt ROAR would put out a list either. The TOUR is a non-profit group of people who put together a set of rules for oval CARPET racing to help unify oval carpet racing to try to get everyone in the country on the same page. They do not have the means or capability to inspect and approve products. That's why they use ROAR for their approvals. I'm sure this process will not change in the future, being that you don't join or pay a membership to the TOUR.
As far as your battery delima with racing starting Sept 1st for you, you will probably have to wait until the list is out on Oct 2nd to see what is legal to be sure you don't buy an un-approved battery or you could just run a TP 5000mah 40c pack or a SMC 4000mah 25c pack. I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but those are the only current packs that are ROAR legal and TOUR legal. Once the TOUR gets going, we will not have this problem this time next year, unless you are new and just starting out, because any of the new packs would not be legal to race in Sept., so you would have to continue to run the packs that you already that are legal for that current approval period. Come on guys, the start of this is odviously hard on some people, but once it gets going, it should be easy to figure out.

Dwayne:
At this time ROAR is the testing battery and doing approvals. They have been working well with us. I am not sure they will give us a list of new battries being test or not. At this time TOUR is not doing our own testing. We will ck and see if we can get some new battery info. This being the first full year for single cell, there are a lot of people hurring to get into the game. I would suggest this year to get hold of a used battery to test with until the approval process is thru. That should give you some track time for a couple of weeks. Sorry I dont have a better answer for you.
Hey Seven you beat me too it. Thanks

Hi Munchi,
The landscape has changed based on a recent decision by ROAR. You might want to check out my new thread. I think you'll be pleased with the direction we've taken.
