Roadsplat 08-25-2009, 09:07 AM I'm planning on starting out with the 21.5 (w/o wing) and the COT class. RC JOHNNYTANLINE 08-25-2009, 09:15 AM Good pole to take. . . Great idea Scott!!! Sparky OvalTrucker 08-25-2009, 09:37 AM I'm planning on starting out with the 21.5 (w/o wing) and the COT class. RC Ray, you did run 10.5/1cell for a while last year didn't you? IF so, what was your professional opinion in terms of parity with 21.5? Roadsplat 08-25-2009, 09:49 AM Yeah I did try it out briefly but to be honest I didn't try it out long enough to make a good comparison. Having said that I would say that initially the 21.5 is going to be quicker. With the way I ran it I thought it (the 10.5/1S)was a little soft out of the corner. However, I am sure that I did not have the proper gear installed and that along with the right tire combo will make a huge difference. I think that once we start running the 10.5/1S, it won't take long and we'll be matching the laps that we were doing with the 21.5. It's just going take a little time to figure out the right combo of springs, tires, gear, and ESC settings. RC OvalTrucker 08-25-2009, 09:56 AM Let me know what you come up with for a combo. Then I'll let you set my car up! Roadsplat 08-25-2009, 10:37 AM Let me know what you come up with for a combo. Then I'll let you set my car up! I can give you the killer setup right now if you want it. You'll be dialed for sure;) RC davz 08-25-2009, 11:11 AM Hey Scott. By a joke, I wasn't trying to be offensive. I just meant that I doubt many people will run 21.5. My bet is that it is gone by christmas. My take on it is that with a wing and such, the 10.5 should be a clear cut advantage. Maybe I was wrong about the wing for 21.5 cars. It would be nice to phase them out anyway. Racknor 08-25-2009, 11:23 AM Scott I voted but it would only let me vote for one SST class. I have two trucks and two drivers. Well one may just be a aggravator. Doug has been known for that. Both trucks will be sent to that race truck shop in MP for the finale (Mr. Dialed I won the last race of the year and I am not going to let you forget it.) OvalTrucker 08-25-2009, 11:24 AM Dave, No Offense taken. I think it'll be gone before X-mas too. Racknor, NO WHINING! XXX-Steve 08-26-2009, 02:35 PM 21.5/2 cell flyin5 08-26-2009, 02:42 PM Im gonna run a truck this year. RobD 08-26-2009, 07:54 PM I'm probably going to run 21.5/2S, but I have a 10.5 motor just in case I decide to switch. It really depends on if I want to get a 3rd year out of the Orion battery (and Scott says it is race legal) or buy a new 1S. As for Kaylee, whatever the equivalent spec class is that is a 1S battery. Maybe a 1S/17.5 combo? I've got the motor choice, just need the battery. OvalTrucker 08-26-2009, 08:11 PM Rob, If your orion is a ROAR approved pack, and it probably is, you can run it in a 21.5 car. As far as Spec 1 cell, 17.5 will run with brushed spec cars. OR! You could let her race an SST! crashmaster 08-26-2009, 09:21 PM im going to run what ever i put in my chassy lol goo fast and turn left OvalTrucker 08-26-2009, 09:25 PM im going to run what ever i put in my chassy lol goo fast and turn left I've got a set of jumper cables here. Are you trying to start something? LOL! crashmaster 08-26-2009, 09:36 PM naa scott im just going to be in left field when i go to the track trying to run 3 cells vs lipos witch arn't as fast davz 08-27-2009, 08:54 AM Wow, I'm really surprised at the amount of 21.5 cars. I though most would jump into 13.5 Guess I better keep my 2 cell pack and my 21.5 motor. Is the COT body legal in 21.5?? OvalTrucker 08-27-2009, 09:05 AM Dave, That's a good question. It may be a disadvantage. gjdean 08-27-2009, 09:41 AM Wow, I'm really surprised at the amount of 21.5 cars. I though most would jump into 13.5 Guess I better keep my 2 cell pack and my 21.5 motor. Is the COT body legal in 21.5?? Remember Dave that is for both 21.5-2s and 10.5-1s. MKingsley 08-27-2009, 09:55 AM 2 cell is so last year..... OvalTrucker 08-27-2009, 10:10 AM Deano must be trying to get his post count up. He's posted twice in the last couple hours! gjdean 08-27-2009, 10:41 AM Deano must be trying to get his post count up. He's posted twice in the last couple hours! Yup, trying to hit 100 by the end of the year. Racknor 08-27-2009, 10:52 AM No he is at work and has nothing to do! He needs to be making my parts! I guess I need to call his boss (Kay) if I want him to do something. crashmaster 08-27-2009, 01:01 PM Mr. Zippy if somebody would lend me a 21.5 when your there i would gladly run with you because i don't know how fast a 3 cell is going to be in the 10.5 class Randy Erb 08-27-2009, 10:58 PM I will be running nitro late model:wave: Racknor 08-28-2009, 05:35 AM Randy your truck or COT car are almost done. So you need to sign up on here. RobD 08-30-2009, 03:51 PM You could let her race an SST! Yeah, she could probably handle it. But then she'd have to give up that nice Chico-painted body that she won at the casino. I'll give it some thought. I have a few extra 13.5 motors, a 10.5, and a 17.5, so it doesn't really matter. I just need to get busy and have Jon order me two 1S lipos and two boosters to go with them. That way I'll be ready for the 13th, if the planets align and the moon turns into cheese and the wife says I can go practice all day with my toys. RobD 09-01-2009, 03:08 PM Okay, I just finalized my decision (by ordering 1S batteries). I can't change my vote, so here is what I'm doing. I'm going to run the COT 13.5/1S class. Kaylee is going to run the SST 13.5/1S class. Scott said she could be in the A-Main every race if I put a chick in a truck. And boys, the shotgun will be with dad at the pit table, so behave - I shoot quarters at 30ft. :beatdeadhorse: JonR 09-05-2009, 03:41 PM Maybe by the middle of the season i'll have a 1cell car. lol. Wouldn't wanta rush into anything. JOHNNYTANLINE 09-06-2009, 05:43 PM Jon, just saw your 2-cell lipo in two, and viola, you now have a pair of batteries! ! ! ! kevinm 09-06-2009, 10:12 PM So, is anybody surprised that Rick Radabaugh checked all four boxes? Rick Rad 09-07-2009, 09:06 AM There should have been one more box ( all of the thee above). JonR 09-13-2009, 08:33 PM Jon, just saw your 2-cell lipo in two, and viola, you now have a pair of batteries! ! ! !
