Scott,

You can count on Mark & I on Fri. nites to help Tim set-up. Is there going to be any
change in tire-compound like in GR, Trackside WI., Cincy, ETC. ? ? ?

Sparky, Paragon is still okay at MP and BC. Thank you in advance for the track help!

Kevin, I cannot respond to PM's on Blackberry. So the short answer to your question is probably.

My daughters and I run buggy class, you just need to have foam tires and spare parts
There are truck classes as well, but somebody else can comment on those.

We have 2 truck classes and generally only one buggy class. They are:

Stock Truck
rubber tires
1600mAh maximum 6-cell NiCd battery
brushed stock 27T -or- 21T Street Spec motor

Super Stock Truck
foam tires
13.5T brushless motor
6-cell NiCd/Nimh or 2s LiPo battery

"Stock" Buggy
(we should change the name of this class to Super Stock Buggy)
foam tires
19T brushed or 13.5 brushless motor
6-cell NiCd/Nimh or 2s LiPo battery

There is sometimes a modified buggy heat, but don't count on it.
We also run Legends, 18th scales, touring cars (sometimes) and 47 flavors of pan car. OK, maybe only 4 flavors, I've lost count.

I agree, we should switch it over to a Super Stock class. It is really a mix of stock and super stock vehicles, but I don't think there are enough to have two classes. We should specify it as 19T/6-cell or 13.5/2S, just so we don't get a 19T/2S combination.

out of curiosity in the 19t buggy class...are most running brushless/lipo combos, or do they still run with nimh? just wondering if i would be competitive still with my "old school" stuff. i know i was doing pretty decent a few years ago with the outdated tires batts and motors...but i also know the lipos are up .2v per pack on a 2s versus a 6cell nimh or nicd. so that is a tad bit of an advantage, but im not really to worried about the brushless set ups as i can still make my brushed motors compete.

Last year was still a mix of brushed and brushless in the buggy class. My fleet is running brushless, but the guys beating me were running 19T/6-cell combinations. Roadsplat, the buggy king, was running brushless. The voltage may be up on the lipo, but it is the motor and battery in combination. Either setup will win, as long as Roadsplat isn't driving his buggy that day.

Thanks
I wasn't aware of any discussion of 1s LiPo in Legends, and if there is, the answer is NO. Some of us ran 17.5 brushless last year and there wasn't any obvious advantage over 21T brushed using the 4-cell Spec packs, so either motor option is legal. I am still debating on whether to allow the newer "software timing" brushless ESCs (Tekin, LRP). They definitely are faster in road racing and anywhere with long straightaways, but I don't know if they'll really help a Legends car on a track with maybe 48' of straight. For now, I'm going to say that they can't be used until we get a chance to do some testing. I doubt anybody will buy a $200 ESC for a Legends anyway.

Ah, you're assuming that someone ever wrote down the rules...
As for Pan Car rules, I defer to Scott's rules posted (and argued about) lots of places here and in the Bay City thread. There's also a post a few pages back with the stock 18th scale rules. Mod 18th is basically limited to 2s LiPo or 6-cell NiCd/Nimh, anything else is pretty much OK. The only issue with Mod 18th is that if you run LiPo, the battery MUST be protected from crash damage either by the chassis design (surrounded on all sides) or or building your own battery box. It can't be just taped/strapped to the left side of the chassis where another car could hit it.

WOW!

The meeting was well attended. This year at MP will be a little different but with a little help from everyone it should turn out great and benefit all of us in the end.

I want to personally thank Tim, Don, Jamie, Kevin, Al and Sparky for coming down and really showing the support we all have to help keep MP what it is!

I know not everyone could show up and that is okay. We had a good representation and things should go off without any trouble.

Thanks again everyone!

See ya at the races!
