Well, the way I see it Brian is still the king! He has won more races in the SST class than anyone! Awesome!

I am thinking that he will not be de-throned this year, but I think the West side guys will have something to say about it once in a while anyway!

Thanks to everyone that helped out this weekend at MP. It's a lot of work putting a race weekend together at MP but with the people we have working on it, things go pretty smooth.

Also, thanks to Kaylee and Kevin helping me with the announcing duties. Jim couldn't be here this month and BOY was he missed!

We are looking at adding an April race date to the calendar. It's NOT a done deal yet, but I'll post here as soon as I find out. The date will probably be April 10th.

Hopefully we will have the new carpet for the February race!

We are just past the halfway point for the 09-10 racing season. As far as I can tell things are going exactly as planned - New Carpet and New Racers. That is what we have!

Everyone can take pride in what we have at MP.

Don't forget, the next MP race is February 13th!

Hmmm. Let's see.
4000 mah legal battery capacity.
10,000 mah suggested battery capacity.

10,000/4,000=2.5.

4000 mah can run about 180 laps.
10,000 mah can run about 450 laps
180/2.5=72 laps
450/2.5=180 laps

180-72=108 laps

Sure. But you will only be scored for 108 laps.:)

Reality - no.

WE HAVE NEW CARPET!!!!!

We have 7 pieces 12' x 40'. We are going to have to do a some piece-ing togther, but with the proper materials I think we will be just fine.

The enduro may be questionable for Friday February 12.
It'll depend on how quickly the assembly process goes for the new track.

MAYBE. We could have a pre-race day track assembly party at an undisclosed location. Not sure if this will be able to happen yet.
But, let's give it some thought.

NIGHTLY NEWS

The SST Enduro to be postponed until March.
It has been decided that putting the new carpet down carefully is much more important than the enduro. We don't want to rush the process just to run the race. We should have at least a little time to practice Friday night.

Puttin' the puzzle together
I have consulted a friend of mine in the carpet installation business and will be having several of the carpet sections attached end to end with a special carpet seam tape. These seams will effectively be permanent so we won't have to handle 7 different pieces of carpet.
From what I've seen of the process the seam tape will not produce a bump.
Since a few of the pieces have holes where the posts were in the middle of the GR track, I may use a couple pieces from one of the ends for testing of the seaming process to ensure a 'no bump' condition.
We may only have 3 rolls to deal with after have the sections attached depending on how we decide to lay out the track.

If you would like to be part of the design/layout/construction crew and have your voice heard, please be there Friday February 12th. Any and all are welcome.
We have quite a few guys with knowledge of how the track can be laid-out effectively. I hope those guys will come and offer thier ideas Friday night.

Ideas can be posted here on HT also.

For starters; we will have 3 80' pieces that are 12' wide. Plus another piece 12' x 40'. Keep in mind that 3 or 4 of the pieces have a 'pole hole'.
It is entirely possible to patch the 'pole holes' with part of the leftover 12'x40' piece. It could be done a couple different ways including using the same 'seaming' method for attaching the 3 80' pieces.

Approximate Track Area in Cafeteria.
The distance between the "block poles" at each end of the cafeteria is said to be 69'. I have not measured it myself, that is what I was told.
Currently, our track is 32' wide. I think the infield is 4' or 5' wide.
The distance from the stage to the far side of the backstretch should be about 36'.
I'm not 100% confident about these measurements, but you can get an idea of the basic dimensions we are working with. I'll try to get accurate numbers as soon as I can. Maybe someone out there already has them. If so, please share!
It is totally possible for us to extend [or widen] the track into the pit area a couple feet if deemed neccessary or desired.
I'm not totally excited about having 'usable' track go too wide because I'd rather see the groove stay oval shaped as opposed to a circle. That's just my opinion though.

Seriously tho I called Novak tonight to see about upgrading the XBR I blew up Saturday to a GTB and the tech said they have no options to upgrade a XBR to a GTB so I have to get the XBR again. HEHE,
