I seem to remember alot of criticism for the JL Pinto when it came out, but I've always liked it. I have both the JL Pinto and MM Pinto and prefer the JL. That is one of the few JL castings to only get one release, and then never be seen again. I'd really like to see another release of the JL Pinto.

On the others, I'm divided. I like the JL Vega, RC Pacer, and MM Gremlin best. I actually have every one of the castings/colors listed here.

I'd say MMX wins them all, except maybe the Vega (to me the JL looks better overall except for the rear wheel opening).

MMX is the only one that made the Pacer tall enough, and the JL Pinto roofline/wheelbase is too long with respect to vehicle height, plus the roof design makes it look like a pillarless hardtop with frameless door windows.

The Gremlins are tied; the different models years represented both look good.

I enjoyed buying those MMXs; it's a pity they weren't more popular. I think they should've modelled the cleaner '71s instead of the big-bumpered '74s, and many of the colors they chose to release were not very attractive. Still, I bought at least one of each at regular price, and then I cleaned out the close-out racks when they hit $1 apiece (or less) at WM.

Howdy BluntFronts!
Hafta say I agree with you allmost 100%...no suprise there.

I'm just going by these pix, but for me I give the Vegas allmost a tie, exept for like you said - the rear whl opening on JLs is incorrect, but I also much prefer the cleaner look of the earlier '71-'72 smaller front bumper like on the JL car.

JLs Pacers proportions are all wrong.

Agree on the Pinto...JLs looks lame...again, in the proportions department.

Both Gremlins look very good, however, for me the JL takes it. The details and lines look much crisper and more defined.

I would much rather have any one of these cars in 1/64th form than a real one. these where god awfull cars.
The alluminium head on the Vega was allways puking up head gaskets and the car drove like CRAP.
The Pinto was a time bomb on wheels, but was MAYBE abetter car than the Vega otherwize.
Pacer...who wants to be seen in the automotive equivelent to a toad???
How do you make a Gremlin? You take a Saws-All to the trunk of a Hornet and presto!!! Probably the best car of the bunch, but still wicked fugly. Gimmee a Hornet anyday.
Or better yet, a Dodge Dart, thank you very much!
