View Full Version : Moebius at IPMS Show
dklange 08-20-2009, 09:34 PM My wife and I just returned from the IPMS National show in Columbus, Ohio and really had a great time!! Spent some time at the Moebius booth and enjoyed having a chance to meet Frank and his mom JoAnn. He's got the new Frankenstein, Spiderman and Green Goblin models along with the new J2 and Conan! They look FANTASTIC!!! The photos just don't do them justice. The t-shirts are cool also! He's a great guy and we all owe him a great "THANK-YOU!!!" for his hard work in bringing us some of the best new products available!!
One note on the show... lots of very cool build-ups of airplanes and tanks but, very few figure models. Still a great show!

j2man 08-21-2009, 08:15 AM Come on Frank. Let's see the asembled (fully painted) Jupiter 2.........
gojira61 08-21-2009, 10:46 AM I spent a bunch of time yesterday talking with Frank and JoAnn between things, you really just couldn't ask for any nicer folks to be bringing us our "toys".
I have to tell you I just couldn't stop looking at the test shot of the Jupiter 2, the level of detail is simply outstanding and this sucker is big! The Spiderman and Green Goblin were really nice, The Frankenstien Monster looked great as did the Conan and the 1:350 Seaview.

Dave Metzner 08-21-2009, 11:47 AM There is no assembled and fully painted Jupiter 2 yet - just a naked gray plastic first test shot......I'm still trying too figure out what colors are needed to paint the interior.... It's not simply beige and brown!

Dang, I wish I was able to go but couldn't afford the $$$. I'd love to see you Moebius guys have a table at our IPMS annual show. That's OrangeCon in the OC, CA on October 17. Hint, hint, hint, hint, hint (www.ipmsoc.org)

I just got back from there and had a great time. Really nice to see Frank and his Mom again. The J2 blew me away, I knew it was big and well detailed, but was still shocked when I saw how big and well detailed it really was. Picked up a t shirt and a damaged box kit of the giant insect (one I hadnt gotten yet)

Dave, I used Bob peroviches Jupiter 2 paint correction guide and the colors are EXACT. He spent a couple of years experimenting and comparing until he had it pefected. He has the correct colors for each area of the ship along with color corrections from each of the 3 seasons. I have it & used it for my PL Jupiter 2. if anyone is interested in exact & correct colors I will post it here .
