k4mike 08-20-2009, 02:55 PM I just got news from Jim Fulton that all systems are go for this coming race season. The building has been refurbished and the whole floor that the track is on has new windows. I am waiting to get the opening dates from Jim but it should be sometime in October as usual. I also recieved word that we will be changing the brushless and Nastruck classes to 1 cell lipo batteries starting this year. I will be checking with Jim this week to get a final rundown on all the classes and their respective rules. As soon as I get this info I will post it all on here. The way it looks now the classes should be:
Brushless - 1 cell lipo / 13.5
Nastruck - 1 cell lipo / spec motor
Monster Trucks
PVC Bombers
Hobby Stock
Mini Late Models
Sliders
Breakout
1/12
1/18th open
1/18th monster trucks
Beginners
Stadium trucks
Also, their has been some discussion about changing the monster truck class back to lunchbox tires. Please post any opinions here regarding this or any other matter so we can get the rules ironed out now before the season starts. ;)
Mike Moore
OVALDETTA 08-20-2009, 03:22 PM Ill run the pumpkin tires but not against guys that are running ribs and spikes, i prefer to run the ribs and spikes, but can we all get jim to pick up some pumpkin tires? they are not easy to get. i definitly want to run my brushless in my monster truck, but will others be okay with that, its equal to a good 27turn. i think this will be a 50-50 deal, and maybe no left hand chassis? iam still kinda lost on the hobby stock class? tires? motor? batterys? bodys? how many minutes a heat? stuff like that, and i know lindsay would like to race also more often, but i know thats hard to get the kids (beginners) all together and to be there all evening, we will just see how it goes and then plan ahead. ovaldetta.
MAGIC2008 08-20-2009, 03:30 PM pumpkin tires are my preference.....will run ribs and spikes also
k4mike 08-20-2009, 04:08 PM On the hobby stocks it will be any motor/battery. You must run a 70 or older body. Heats will be 3 minutes, features 4 minutes. We still need to come up with a lap breakout limit. It would probably be best if we ran the first week to come up with a baseline for the laps. I dont think the brushless would make any difference with lunchbox tires, but it would be an advantage with ribs and spikes.
OVALDETTA 08-20-2009, 04:37 PM i also was thinking that one saturday out of the month have a big event for one of the classes say a 75 lapper in hobby stock, then a 50 lapper in bombers and so forth? that way you have something to look forward to if you are racing in that class that fulton would choose to have that event for, how about a big purse nite, 1 dollar extra when you sign up that nite goes to that class winner for a big sat race? just killing time here and thinking out loud. ovaldetta
k4mike 08-20-2009, 04:52 PM I like the idea of a big race every month for a class. When we did that last year it got a lot of people excited.
OLD SCHOOL 08-20-2009, 05:38 PM I prefer clod tires myself.
OLD SCHOOL 08-20-2009, 05:40 PM I guess the pumpkin tires would work if nobody else likes the clod tires.
k4mike 08-20-2009, 05:58 PM Wow, now that would be something Paul would want to do.
OLD SCHOOL 08-20-2009, 07:13 PM I was just sittin here thinking about how much fun it was when there was the gearbox stock and pro stock. (while still sitting here) I was thinking that it could be cool to try something like that with the pan cars. (still sitting here) Back in the day it was fun watching pro stock run and aspiring to attain the skills needed to possibly be asked to move up to pro stock. It seemed to make for better racing ,I think, the pro stocker's didn't have to watch out for the slow guys, and the slow guys could race and not be in the road (I still was) but we all had fun. (sitting by my pulpit now) I think the 1 cell lipo idea is great, talk about a spec battery i've heard of people runing the same battery for 2 years with no change in performance. Of course we have some spec packs that are well who knows how old and still run good with proper care so who knows the lipo may last forever! ( getting tired laying here now) the monster trucks, I think would be alot more fun, competitive, and cheaper because those ribs and spikes aren't cheep and they wear out quick but those ol pumpkin tires last forever well a long time anyhow. have fun turn left hit jimmy (hahahaha) Later!!!!!
OVALDETTA 08-21-2009, 08:52 AM yeah i think PAUL would run clod tires, do they make pvc tires that big? hmmmm? iam gonna watch some of the guys that will try the lipos and see how the do, racing and charging them. iam still sitting here also, i didnt go home. ovaldetta
jsrocket13 08-21-2009, 11:03 AM Well I'm just sitting here thinking what the hey ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!! Paul your a nut but thats why we keep you around hehe.
Go slow and hit PAUL HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Call me at work jerky.
OLD SCHOOL 08-21-2009, 11:16 AM PVC clod tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OVALDETTA 08-21-2009, 03:03 PM 4x4x4 Pvc Class!! Wheely King With Brushless = Carnage. Going To Lowes Tonite, Going To Pick Up Some 4 Inch Schedule 40 Sewer Pipe, Tell You Guys The Results This Weekend, Ovaldetta
Chuck 127 08-21-2009, 04:02 PM ovaldetta - I don't see why Lindsay couldn't race every week as long as she doesn't
stand in front of Dale - oops !!!! there goes those Dale jokes again - I also heard
the new windows have child proof locks on them - so someone is going to have to
open the window down in Dale's pit area - oops !!! another Dale joke - glad he
doesn't read ( or can't read ) hobby talk = chuck
k4mike 08-21-2009, 04:20 PM Paul and Bill, I could just imagine the sound from that class. Instead of bombers we could call it blenders.
OVALDETTA 08-24-2009, 09:30 AM Yeah Edna, I Want To Sign Up For The Monster Trucks, the Hobbystock, the Beginners Class, Oh And The Blenders Also. We Would Have To Raise The Lap Counting Tower A Little Bit Higher, For Safety Reasons. Wow Chuck Thats Being Hard On The Little Guy, Aint Ya, We Will Have To Keep Dale Under Adult Supervision, If We Can Find Some Responsible Adults? Ovaldetta
Chuck 127 08-24-2009, 10:59 AM ovaldetta - let's get him a shock collar & put a St. Christopher medal on it
and he'll never know what hit him - as far as adult supervision - we have
Edna & Shirley - they both have raised grandchilderen before - there can't
be that much difference in size - I mean in way they act - well I'm going
upstairs to work on my hobby stock ( which is hard to do when you live in
a trailer ) = chuck
OVALDETTA 08-24-2009, 01:30 PM Wait A Minute? Upstairs? In A Trailer? Over Here In Ohio We Call That The Penthouse. I Just Call It The Roof. Bill H
Chuck 127 08-24-2009, 05:11 PM ovaldetta - ROOF - that's what my dog called it = chuck

OVALDETTA 08-31-2009, 09:26 AM Duckhunter, Go Up To The Locks And Dam At Yorkville, Big Rocks, big Sand Bar, Watercrossings, About Every Other Sat With The Guys From Pennsylvania, they Got Close To 25 Members In Their Club, Hey Chuck, Ill Try That, Climb The Stairs Up To The Track, When We Have The Time You Gotta Tell Me About Your Crawling Adventures At Jills, Later Ovaldetta.
Chuck 127 08-31-2009, 11:10 AM ovaldetta - it wasn't crawling adventures - it was ROCK crawling adventures - that's
all i'm going to say on here - cause my wife checks hobby talk once & awhile to see
if i'm dragging Dale's name through the mud = chuck
MAGIC2008 08-31-2009, 12:47 PM any body know when Jim is opening this year and what the rules are gonna be? Can only make it about once or twice a month, so don't want to spend a great deal of money getting something ready to run........hope we have some fun and economical classes this year.
OVALDETTA 08-31-2009, 01:15 PM Hey Chuck, They Dont Have Rocks At Jills? Maybe In The Parking Lot, We Will Pick This Storie Up At Fultons Sometime. Iam With Magic, When Does The Track Open? All The Proposed Classes? Any Rules Updates? Poor Dale! Ovaldetta
Chuck 127 08-31-2009, 04:48 PM ovaldetta - for 136.00 - A lap dance turns into a rock crawl - it would be nice to know
ahead of time - so you could build it & have it ready to run - if you can't make it
thru the week to tweak it = chuck
OVALDETTA 09-01-2009, 08:37 AM man you got ripped off chuck, hey i got a picture of chad wallace from a track at marietta ohio, man its hilarious!!!! i will take it down to fultons, iwill frame it for chad. ovaldetta.

k4mike 09-01-2009, 02:38 PM Hey guys, just got back from Fulton's. Racing will start Saturday, October 3rd. I will have the rules all typed here real soon.
k4mike 09-01-2009, 02:41 PM By the way, he did also say that we will only be using the robitronics transponders this season.
Chuck, the website is www.customworksrc.com
Mike
Chuck 127 09-01-2009, 10:41 PM k4mike - thanks for the info on the website - Had to go to Wheeling twice last

chuck127
MAGIC2008 09-02-2009, 12:03 PM anybody else see the rocket late model from custom works.........awesome I WANT ONE!
Chuck 127 09-02-2009, 02:26 PM magic2008 or k4mike = does mcallister still have a website ? i can't get
mcallisterracing.com to work - Magic - saw the rocket late model - the body
looks good but doesn't fit anything that we have a class for = chuck127
k4mike 09-02-2009, 02:45 PM Chuck, try http://www.mcallisterracing.com/racing/
k4mike 09-02-2009, 02:47 PM Anyone still interested in the semi late (1/18th / fireball) class?
MAGIC2008 09-02-2009, 03:04 PM k4mike will build one with the 1/18th camaro from mcallister........chuck the rocket is a new gearbox kit.........could be its own class, but is rather pricey 349.99 on tower hobbies
jsrocket13 09-03-2009, 06:57 PM Hey Magic I think we should run a gearbox class again let all the dirt oval car in since most have a gearbox now thinking 17.5 and a 2 cell LIPO.
k4mike 09-08-2009, 10:21 AM Hey guys, back to work after a four day weekend. First one in 8 years. Hillbilly was awesome as usual, but I'm ready for opening day at Fulton's. 25 days and counting.
OVALDETTA 09-09-2009, 12:21 PM My Question Is , Did Jimmy The Mound Town Rocket Make The Show At The Hillbilly? Ovaldetta
k4mike 09-09-2009, 01:41 PM He didnt make the show, but he did do an honest to goodness good job behind the wheel.
Chuck 127 09-09-2009, 01:58 PM jsrocket13 - heard you didn't do bad - congrats - really didn't think you were going to be ready or I would have tried to come see you race - Next year I'll save my money so
I can buy a tee shirt from you but only if you autograph it = chuck127
jsrocket13 09-09-2009, 02:01 PM Bill I missed the show by 1 spot not bad for the 3rd night in the car, after talking to a few other drivers in the conise I got a lil screwing by the flag man, if i had more time behind the wheel I would of made the show I guess we'll have to wait till next year for the 1,500 pay day.
Jimmy
Chuck 127 09-09-2009, 03:37 PM k4mike - I am looking for a web site that would have a 1/12 -1965 ford mustang
fastback - I would like a 1965 ford falcon but I know that's impossible to find -
then I would like to talk you into putting a Phil Bonner " Daddy Warbucks " paint
job on it - He was an old drag racer before your time -you would have all year to do it -
he was my hero back in the day & I just have the bug right now to build something =
