Check this Mustang out. I bought a brand new XT in shell like this last week for $26.00. I thought that was a heck of a lot to get a body I wanted. I slapped it on a new SRT chassis that I already had. And, sold the chassis for $5. It is a beautiful car for sure. I started bidding on this one cause it's my absolute favorite body. I gave up on it a couple of days ago. I would have gone to $26 again tonight. Now, it's at $39 with an AFX (probably MT). Man I guess my luck out weighed my insanity! This time.

I think it's pretty rare. I have the Green and the Black Pull back versions too. I wanted the white but not with the number. Now I wish I had got it from Dave when he had it out there.

Is that a diecast conversion? The seller's description makes no mention whatsoever of the mfg of the body... He only actually identifies the chassis. nd

Mine is an AW XT and it is identical. Right down to the white headlights.

I have one I gave $17.00 for it at the local hobby shop. I can not imagine it falls into the rare category.

It is a Johnny Lightning Mustang for an AFX type chassis. They were released in both Pull Back and X-traction form. I searched HO Slot Cars big list for Playing Mantis Mustangs. In the link given below, the AFX type bodies are at the lower half. The red with white stripe shows as a release of 3000.

This list is the most complete source that I could fins.

this Mustang (the red one) was from the first xtraction release, so many people went after the flamed Nomads that the red Mustang was left behind, lol. Nice car, I told you guys watch it, johnny lightning/round2/AW was going to have some sleepers (collectables)

That was my favorite car from that first release. One of JL's better design efforts.

now that i look at all the different versions on the big list, i gotta agree that the red with white stripes is probably the best-looking one. nice.

Dang! I bid on the red and the green together and some yahoo out bid me for a crummy buck with seven seconds left! Oh well, I have my one of each. I'll be okay. I think.

Have one of those sitting in my display case on top of an AFX MT chassis. Didn't realize I had such a collectible JL Mustang. Finally, I can make that big sale. ;) rr

Jeff from MCT had one for sale at the Autofest and was asking $25.00 for it. It's from the first release of Johnny Lightning XTractions.

I had mine mounted on an Ultra-G XTraction and it was getting ran hard on the road course.

For some reason the red one was always more sought after. I wanted one myself but the price always went out of reach. I gave up looking for it a long time ago.. They are around, but there will almost always be a high price set for them.. Good luck with your search!!
