Here's a photo of my MKII in progress. I had decided early on that I did not want the chrome finish and since I liked the Model Master Metalizer paints I decided to use the Titanium buffing metalizer. So far, I'm really pleased with the model. I am planning on using the decals and I have started a slight revision to the base. Hopefully it will all come out great! I'll post more as I go. - Denis

Looks good did the clear base come with the chrome version? One tip if you still can take off a couple of links in the neck armor would look much better .

Not sure I can remove any links in the neck at this point... I'll have to study that.

Yes, the clear base comes with the MKII.

Thanks!

Looks cool. Kind of the like the Comic-Con Exclusive Sideshow MKII.

Are you airbrushing? Did you use another color or some type of wash to get the black faded effect?

Yes, I airbrushed the Titanium metalizer and then buffed all surfaces with several kleenexes. The highlights and dark areas are caused by the buffing. I've used metalizer paints on some aircraft models and been very pleased with the effects. Really does give a metallic look. No other washes were used.

I've seen and someone else on this forum mention the Kleenex buffing.

What does that do? How does it not eat up the Kleenex. Maybe I can't do it because I don't have a smooth airbrush finish.

The Model Master Metalizer paints are manufactured in two types, buffing and non-buffing. The kleenex buffing only works on the buffing type of metalizer paints. Once you have sprayed the area and the metalizer is dry (which is really quick), take several tissues and gently buff the surface. It creates the sheen and really gives a metal look!

Thanks for the compliments! I'm hoping to paint the base this weekend and start working on the rivet decals. I'll post another shot soon. Again thanks! - Denis
