Hi,
i'm looking for british numberplates in our scale but couldn't
find anything.
I don't dare to make them with my inkjet because i don't
understand the system... or don't know anything about the different
eras/ styles over the years (maybe different in the 60s for example).
I'm going to finish these both old Bichler bodies and want to give them
a touch of racing combined with allday usebility... So they need british
numberplates.
Any info about the structure or colours would be helpful!!

Are you looking for Gumballs, Roundels and numbers to dulicate racing numbers, or are you looking for license plate numbers??????
Either way, you can go to Pattos Place for HO decals, etc. at this link. Go to "N" for Numbers on the decals link on the left sidebar. Most are at the bottom of the page. Or, "R" for Roundels. Here is the link

Here is a photo of european plates, and Roundels and Squares
or are you looking for license plate numbers??????
sorry, yes, i'm looking for LICENSE plates.
I found a german site that explains the different changes through the years
and the structure (which letter stands for the city etc.).
But it's easier to use professional decals... :o
Thanks for the link, i've already had a look at Pattos but still can't
find what i'm looking for.

I have used snippings of larger scale decals to create "compound decals". Tedious... yes, but you can get all kinds of numbers and letters out of them. Under macro they look choppy, but to the naked eye they're fine. Railroad sheets are more likely to have letters and numbers. Many of the smaller letter and numbers below were put on 1 at a time. So it can be done, but those Patto plates look like the ticket. I'm just too dang cheap to spring for them though. nd

Ebi,
The photo on the left of Fast Lap's post above shows British Number Plates that go with your Jaguars. These are what you see in photos of the Tourist Trophy (TT) and other British Touring/Sports Car events of the era.
As Fast Lap noted, they are on Pattos web site.

The decal in particular is at the very bottom of the "N" list under "Lotus and Ferrari Number Plates".
I have a number of 1:43 Ferrari 250 SWB and 250 GTOs from the TT and these are the type of plates they carry. Check out this article on the 1963 TT:

Thanks a lot,
that guided me through...:o
Could find them at Pattos now.
Meanwhile i also could find them here:

I've already got german 1/87 licenseplate decals from TL and they fit fine!
Bye
Ebi

Cars that are allowed to drive on the street also. :)
