Yea, I missed out on it last year for that end of season race. I got sick the day before so I skipped it. I plan on making a few trips down this year. Looking forward to getting my ass handed to me by you guys :p

me too!!

inferno, I doubt you are getting them that cheap, even with the "John" hookup. If your shop is selling them THAT cheap, they are making almost no profit then.

Support your local shop!

John/BSR is 4.5 miles from me. I'm waiting on WGT tires at his old shop to do testing for the new guys getting into the sport. Likely my car will be a "rental" for the rookies. I just put IRS side shocks on it tonight.

Locally, John's old track that he just sold, TOUR rules has hit EVERYONE for $50-100 just to get started racing new rules.

(rambling due to lack of sleep, I'm a night owl!)

World GT tires are not supposed to be available to sponsored drivers at their special rate through their sponsors!!!

They aren't. We were talking about spec tires and the regular tires we run. I can order them but I pay retail for them.

I think people just read into things more than they should... trust me, it's not intentional..

I'm thinking about it and leaning towards yes. The wifey doesn't like me taking back to back road trips but I think I can sweet talk my way into it.

I guess I am lucky. I have been married for 35 years to the greatest woman on earth. I have always said "she gives me enough rope to hang myself and I am carefull not to trip". She always ask what my schedule is before planning something. In return, I try to spend as much time at home with her doing things she and I like. I even go shopping with her. She likes my opinion and I never complain if she ask to have me take the time off from racing for a family or other event she wants. Things just seem to work out.

I may not have luck at RC racing, but have had great luck where it realy counts.

I can't complain too much. Mine lets me get away with alot more than she should. When I was racing the real cars there were alot of times she gave me the money to get to the track and be able to race, or bought me a tire when I needed one... and to be clear, she HATES racing.

It's just the little things, like buying a $100 front row seat to a show coming up and then being told it's the same night as something else she had planned but never told me about.

Larry, that's awesome!!!! All to often I see wives getting the bad rap on here and it's great to hear a good story. I'm with you... going on 20 of the best years of my life with my wife and she doesn't care about racing but she knows I do and she cares about me. My wife ROCKS!!!!!!!

Wish my EX-WIFE understood my love of cars, be it real ones or little ones that I'm back into again.

I could have been at a bar acting like a fool chasing tail.. doing drugs.....but I prefer playing at the track, be it fuzzy Ozite or 1320' dragstrip. She knew this, tried to change me, oh well.

Weird, her THIRD husband is into Outlaw Sprint Cars and we've talked racing before our split, and again after they got married.

DOH!!!!!!!!!

Back on topic, I bought a set of World Touring tires tonight, trued down for .1" L/R stagger, will try them next week.

"Inside source" stated these are like gold right now, he knew of 5 sets left and they were at our track.

Same with Jack the Gripper... I heard they had a bad batch and couldn't ship any of their orders. Bring back the PARAGON... :freak:

Man I think I just wont use anything if I have to go back to that stuff... get a headache just thinking about it. :(

I'll continue the "off topic" discussion as well.
I too am one of the fortunate ones to have married a "very understanding" wife. She was well aware from the beginning racing had been and would be a major part of my life. I actually got away from it for a brief time but started playing with the little cars and then twistin' wrenches on a local super late model then next thing you know I'm traveling 30+ weekends a year with the big cars, racing R/C on the few off weekends and racing online during the week! She was not around when I was racing big cars but did put a helmet back on about 4 years ago in NC for a "bag" race. I'm still on jackstands for that one!
Yep, seen a lot of shopping malls, even went to a fashion show, once, but she also will sometimes travel with me. Darn outlet malls are sometimes too close but we've gone a lot of cool places, done some neat things. Missed a lot of family functions however made sure to be there for the really important ones!

right there with ya... well, except the fashion shows. she's gonna have to show a lot more liking to r/c racing before i do anything like that LOL.

OK........I couldn't resist. Let's take a look at this:

Shopping Malls: What does the poor husband get to do?? Sit and watch every weirdo in town walk up and down like a parade while your wife spends money.
Fashion Shows: What does the poor husband get to do?? Sit and watch super models pracing by at eye level wearing mini skirts, while your wife says, "take a look at that, will ya".Yeah Geno, it's a hell of a price to pay but hang in there.

Cory.....we just been edumacated by the master!!! LOL

Geno-Machino

Well... It's sure been tough, let me tell ya!

The parade can sure be entertaining but I've figured out it's a whole lot more fun to join in on the acting wacky! There have been a few stores where by the time we're going out the door the store clerks are usually glad I'm not their husband or boyfriend! Several years ago while checking out at the register at Victoria Secret during holiday shopping (with the wife) I hinted to the sales girl about being ideal for a part-time job there. It was during the racing off-season, I had some spare time but it wasn't received too well but sure seemed like a great idea to me! However please note, I was smart enough not to bring up having experience using the templates at the race track and offering to demonstrate would have likely been a death wish!
Want to really mess with a store clerks head? Ask about the buy one at half price get one free sale. Some are quick to figure it out but the slower ones... classic!

As I stated, fashion show = once. Apparently I'm one of the few that appreciate a good pair of cowboy boots. Heck, they were even my good tuxedo boots. Guess the clincher was when they asked if I wanted sparkling water or some other stuff and I asked for a beer!

Just doing my part to help my fellow man.
Hey it's all good, I can handle it, I've got big shoulders! Glad we could have a little fun!

That's what happens when the racing starts.... too busy working on cars to complain about rules. LOL!!!!

Here's a shopping mall trick; go into those stores with the round spin racks and see how many you can get spinning opposite of each other at the same time and then run out. One time I had 8 spinning at the same time and clothes were straight out flappin in the breeze.
