A new off road and oval track is set to open on sat. 8-22-09. It is in middletown,N.Y.. About 5 min. from Rt.17. The address is 384 stoney ford road middletown, N.Y. 10940. I can't be there this saturday, but will be there on the 22nd.

Went real well, Wayne. Good turnout. I had a good time. I posted a full review on our thread. If you want, I can copy and paste it here.

Thanks for the update Tim. This track is so close to my house I hope it really takes off. I can run here on saturday and not get home to late to be tired the next day at Dirtrunner's.

I was there on Saturday also.I think with a little more work on the tracks it will be a good place to race.I have to agree with Wayne that it works out because it is close to home.The oval seem's like it will be pretty fast.Just need's to be a little smoother.

Yup. They're off to a great start for sure. With a little bit more refining on the track, it'll be awesome. The layout is really nice. Not too easy for a seasoned racer and not too hard for a beginner. And the location is really good too. It's only about 45-60 minutes from N.NJ. I'm looking forward to racing there on the off-weeks from Dirt Runners and hopefully a few times after our season ends during the down time between offroad and onroad at DR.

I'd say that I'm "stoked" about the new track, but at 35, I'm too old to be "stoked", so I'll just go with "psyched"! :p

Whats the race format going to be? One heat and the mains? Or more than one heat/class and mains? Maybe a dual track series for a few of the classes next season depending on whats strong at their track?

Wayne - Being a "retired" volunteer fire fighter myself, im curious as to the back ground of this project? Are they doing this for a fund rasiser? Do many of the fire fighters race? Was there a need for a track in that area where there are a lot of racers, with no place to race?

Should be 2 heats and the mains. A bunch of guys used to have a place to play at. It went away so they decided to build a real track behind the firehouse. A bunch of the guys have done a lot of work to get it up and running. I am trying to help out as much as I can to get them headed in the right direction. As far as I know the proceeds will go to the firehouse.

We got our heats in and the sky opened up and flooded us out.

What time does registration end and what time does racing start? I don't get home from racing at Xtreme on Friday nights til 1am or so, but I'll try to make it up to The Station on Sat. :thumbsup:

You can pit out of your car or inside the garage I believe. Definately out of your car though.

is the track constructed to enable 1/8th scale to run..?? if not, what about monster truck..?? nitro..?? electric..??

The lanes are 14' wide. Anything will be able to run on the track.

Track looks great. Forecast looks like crud but I'll keep my fingers crossed they can get their racing debut tomorrow!

I am sad to say but with 60% rain on Saturday and a 3 hour ride I think I will stay home. Not very happy about that but I don't want to take a chance of it getting rained out and driving up there not knowing. I would have to leave at 5 am to get up there by 8. I guess I have to wait till next time you guys run.

Sorry to hear guys. The positive thing for me is I am very likely to make it next weekend as today wasn't looking good due to work .
