View Full Version : T-Jet Racing, "As was"
Slotmanmoss 08-10-2009, 09:28 PM Are there any groups who race the T-Jets "as was", ie: original shoes, wheels and tires, aurora bodies, etc? Would like to see your rules and any comments you have concerning this type of racing. Thanks
Alan
Roddgerr 08-10-2009, 09:48 PM In western PA we race a class that's pretty close to bone stock. We allow silicone tires and any stock body, Aurora, JL/AW, Dash ect. We are allowed to run Wizzard brushes and BRST pick ups also. Other than that they are pretty much stock. Running on the original hard tires would be tough.
ParkRNDL 08-12-2009, 05:59 PM hey Roddgerr, where in western PA? i'm in Chambersburg near I-81, i've always wished there was a racing group close to me... and my favorite type of racing is skinny-tire Tjets...

Hi Alan,
At my basement track, (Cass County HO Raceway) we race T-jets with all original parts. Except for the tires which can be slip on silicones, JL / AW skinny tires, or if you dare, stock Aurora tires. And the bodies have to be hard plastic or resin Aurora, Johnny Lighting/Autoworld, Road Race Replica, or MEV. The body cannot be lowered.
It's my favorite class. We race in southern Michigan / northern Indiana.
The armatures have to be stock and can't ohm lower than 13 ohms.
Chassis can be open or solid rivit.
Pick up shoes, brushes, and springs must be stock.
Axels and hubs must be stock.
Randy.

Hey Alan,
This is good class to start out with. You will find out a few things as you go. These may include the following:
#1 the guy who buys the most chassis will ALWAYS have the fastest car.
#2 The stock tires are fine. Just alow folks to treat them with W-D 40.
#3 If you alow limited travel pickups you will have fewer offs.
#4 you will quikly become the Mako Club, because that is the best body for that class
#5 Buy alot of guide pins.
#6 Get REAL good at replacing those guide pins you just bought.
#7 you will have fun:wave:

If you run different themes from week to week you will bypass this problem.
(Oh look! race 5 is TRUCKS!)
So you run trucks, Trans Am cars, Two seat sports cars, long wheelbase sedans, convertibles, European sports cars, ect, ect,ect...
